Fitting a Greddy SMIC with a Rotary Extreme Scoot hood

Now I know Rotary Extreme products are a thing of the past and providing fitting info on it seems antiquated but I'm a firm believer in the value of these forums as a knowledge repository versus Facebook crap. Also, I didn't find any solutions to the problem I was having, not directly anyways.

In short, this hood has fitting issues with the Greddy SMIC and the oem strut bar. Neither the Seibon or VIS replica Scoot hoods suffer this issue due to the less aggressive, shallower vents and the omission of the center duct that travels down the center of the hood. After installing my new SMIC I tried to close the hood and found the duct hits the intercooler and stops it from closing.

Solution: Remove the center duct. The center duct on the Rotary Extreme hood is attached only with silicon adhesive to the underside of the hood. Drill out the pop rivets on the back part of the duct and use fishing line or an exacto knife to cut through the adhesive carefully. Then pull the duct away. The hood closes perfectly now. I haven't tried if the strut bar will fit now since I have to find mine. I'll update if it does.
