RX2 for 200

I could get an 72 Rx2 2dr for 200 dollers. It dose not have a grill, bumpers or motor and trans. The guy says the body is in good shap with some lil dents here and there. Inside the car he says is all there also. I dont know if has any rust. But I am going to give it a look at this weekend. Just wanted to see what you all think about this...

I might take it and it sounds like it might be a good deal. But I dont know, let along know how hard it is find a 2dr rx2 also. But it sounds like a good deal I cant pass up. What you guys think....

Thanks for your guys time here

I bought a '71 RX2 coupe for $150 a couple of years ago that had over $4000 in receipts! The windshield, gas tank, motor, carb, brake calipers, had all been replaced in 1995. The body was in pretty fair shape, too, a little light rust in the usual places, but nothing serious. The seller said the motor was blown, but when the battery and spark plugs were replaced and the carb was given a going-over, we put some fresh gas in it and gave it a tow down the road, I'll be damned if the thing didn't fire right up, clear out and purr like a kitten! I've been VERY lucky finding old rotary cars that actually run for free or almost no money. I bought a '74 RX3 with a factory rebuilt motor with 17K on it for $40 once. Should I go on? No, I think I'll save some for another time. Here's a picture of the RX2, though. -Mike

Ha Ha, You got it, man!
I'm about to make my own little pilgrimage to see if this guy is ready to get rid of that old REPU that's been sitting in his driveway for years.
My friend has tried to buy it, but he has long hair and none of these old guys will give him the time of day. However, my upbringing in rural Northeastern Oregon has equipped me with the necessary redneck skills to deal with them.

I just got my frist Mazda today. Yep, I picked up that Rx2. The guy got it about a year ago and was going ot make it in to a race car. I am glad he deside to sale it. I would hate to see it a race car my self. I took some pics for you all to have a look at. Here is the link, http://kickatomic.tehvul.com/forum_pics/rx2/my_rx2/

I was really shocked of the shape the whole car was in. I was thinking it would have been something just setting and getting all rusty. But I was worng, from what I coud see there was no really bad rust. None what so ever, the floor was the stock color of the car still. On both sides from what I seen. The body out side had no real rust on it. I looked in fornt of the back wheels and just after them too. I look in the trunk and so on. Over all I did not see anything that looked like rust out what so ever. The body did have some lil dents here and there. Not to many. had on above the rear window and some other lil ones that u can see that are not that big let along deep. Besides the things I would need to make the car 100%. Those things would be the following, motor, trans, vlance, grill, turn signal lenses, radiator, front bumper and I would like to get a back bumper for it also. As of right now those are about the only thing I know about that I would need for this lil guy..

Also, any info you guys have about the Mazda Rx2 would be great. Like what year and motor and trans would be good for it and ofther lil things...

Thanks guys

Most likely in April, I will be selling my rx2. I just can't afford to keep it with school and all.
