REPU REDO (REW T66 platform)

I was originally saving the T66 setup for a 3rd gen, and since the 3rd gen I purchased already had a single turbo I figured it was time to give it to the REPU. I just recently did a good amount of work to it that included a bridge port motor that I built with a 100 shot on it. I sold the motor to a friend to fund some of the cost of the swap. I had almost every thing to do it except a front housing to the 13b-rew.....Thanks to my friend Chuck he had one laying around , so it was time to start on the swap.

Thanks for the compliments guys, I can't wait to get it on the road and the motor broken in! Got most the parts today to make the race exhaust for it......hint: it will have a flapper on it...lol

No, it is the turbo setup from my old 1st gen. I am having to modify it a little though, all in all it went in pretty good.

Today I welded the waste gate portion of the manifold up, and started fabing up the stack. I also was able to run the wiring harness and intake mounted up.

I am thinking I might try the clutch type T2 diff in the back.....I know it swaps into the 3rd gen so I guess it will swap into the REPU with the same spacer? Have you heard of anyone doing the t2 lsd?

Thanks,
Kevin

Hard to say If the LSD unit from a TII will fit. Do you know whether or not the ring gear is the same size?

thats pretty damn bad *** bro...

I like that you decided to eliminate the intercooler for simple reasons that sweet

I also noticed you kept the fd water pump with the alternator and used a GSL-SE on the 3rd gen motor correct?

I take it one of two things happened, either you modded the front gsl-se front oil cover or 12a cover for clearance or the FD waterpump just happened to clear?

Im running a 13b re motor and the gsl-se front cover didn't allow the waterpump to mount flush...so im running a first gen water pump...Which is coo its not so clunky and heave and ****...

but let me and us know whot that worked out for you?

Also the build is looking pretty damn sick and very simple and quick...

Thanks,

I am running a gsl-se front cover and to my surprise did not have any issues with the water pump housing hitting the cover.

I like your oil pan baffle plates. I'll probably do that in my REPU's pan.

I hope it controls the oil better than without the plates, under full throttle through high speed right turns I would have oil make its way all the way up to the oil fill /catch can with this similar set up in a 1st gen. If it works I might spend a little more time on the design of the baffles.

I used 2mm RA classics in S4 low compression rotors. I choose the Classics at the time because of the cost, and I was planning to only run 17-18psi with water injection. I have ran them in several motors, and they hold up pretty well with plenty of pre-mix.

Cool build.

In the corners with the falken azenis 225 F and 245 R it would run away from miatas with the same model of tire. I could not believe how well the truck would stick in a corner. However in a strait line I had issues with the open diff and wheel hop while spraying a 100 shot on a bridge port motor. So now with this power level I am going to have to rework the rearend.
