offset rx2

what is the stock offset on a 72 rx2 ? Also what is th eoffset on the early rx7 13" steel wheels?

last question is what is the max/optimum offset and wheel width??

I would like to either run a 15x7 or a 16x7 the 16's would be my first choice.

I know 15x8 will fit in the back.....I know a guy with 15x10 Epsilons...only stickout about an inch....not bad. I have 14X7 (+0 offset SSR's) with an inch adaptor (4x110 - 4x114) in the back now. Just the edge of the rim and the round side of the tire barely protrude. With the lips rolled they don't rub with 2 finger space.

I prefer the smaller rim on the 2....15" max. The aussies do a lot of 16"-17". Have seen 18" typeC's on one once. Crazy!

I have plans to stuff 17s maybe 18s if I have the funds on my 1972 Rx2. I was going to stuff 17x6.5 in front, and 17x7.5 in back. I have been told many of times that useing those sizes no body mods will be needed.

Here is a link to one of the most pretty Rx2s with 17s I have seen.

Hey Detlmen, could you give me some info on your Rx2.
When it was made, mine was 10/71. Also could you look at your turn signal switch for me and tell me how many wires u have runing from your switch. I belive mine has two, but mine was also cut.

Thank you,

PS, get some photos of your 2 also.

Those sizes sound good....you should'nt have any rubbing problems. Although my 6.5x13 (+10) fronts rub at full lock on the swaybar. What suspension combo are you running?

13x7 +3 offset, no rubbing with 50 series tires, but they get fairly close to the front swaybar at full lock:

I like the stance with a bit of negative camber:

I have a set of Azev 17 inch wheels that I want to fit to my Rx-2. They are 7 inch wide (all 4).
Offset 20mm.
Tires 215x40x17.
Car is lowered about one inch with Koni's on front and KYB's on the back and has Racing Beat blocks pushing the swaybar down (Racing Beat stage 1).

Will the wheels fit without body mods ?
The wheels are currently on a 1983 FB and they fit but they touch while braking hard & turning at the same time (like driving up the driveway coming from 40mph)

I believe the stock offset for the Rx2 was 12 mm same as the earlier first gen Rx7s. Most of the 17" wheels that I have seen are set up for the offset of the later Mazdas 37 mm.
Good luck

Are RX-2's 4x110?

If so, I need to wrap my 15x7 Cneterlines with the new Azenis I just bought!

Yes, from what I have seen they are 4x110.
All older Mazdas are 4x110 I think.

Yes, the Rx2, 3, and 4 are 4 by 110, but the older Cosmo (RX5) was 100 by 4 or something differnt from the other Rxs.
