I am sure you will need mounts. I know the Starlet swap is not to bad. Unsure of the corolla swap. You should find someone to do the engine mounting part of the swap for you. You are going to need some fab work done.

You might want to ask around on some of the corrola site, I recently picked up a starlet and was/is/am thinking about doing the same thing. Only thing I have gather so far for a Starlet is that the trans hump needs to be cut out and rasied up

cool, thanks for the input. from what i hear it is very close to the same as the starlet swap. if anyone here has any specs on the starlet swap don' t be shy. my friend runs a machine shop and i can mig and tig so welding is not a problem. i just wanted to get as much info on the swap as i could before i start.

Well I am constantly searching on it also, so I will save any thread on other board I can find.
Right now I am leaning towards a 4age, but a stock 12a has about the same hp maybe even more. And the mazda 5-speed seem to be more abundant and reliable. Just not sure if I want to have a piston powered rx7, and a rotary powered starlet. Just doesn't seem right. lol

thanks please keep me in mind if you find something. if i ask for any info on a toyota site they tell me to put the 4age engine also. i'm going with the 12a because its what i want. no swap specs on the 12a in a starlet besides the trans hump?

i have a 13b in a 73 corolla, and as for mounts i went with what i always do, a straight 3" angle bar across the front and bolt it to the chassie, if you dont mind the metal to metal vibrations.... cause i dont! who cares of a little vibration "when you want speed". otherwise you can do what a friend of mine did to his corolla, which is extend the factory mazda engine bracket, then fab some brackets to mount on the side of your frame rails and then you can use the factory mazda rubber mounts.

i just welded a flat piece of metal to the original mount, cause the mazda mounts about 2" in front of the toyota mount.
