Help me find this color!

Hello,

I was fortunately able to buy this repu from S. Osley back in Aug/Sept. He told me that the color was Neptune Green (EX) off an RX3 I believe. I've been slowly but surely piecing it back together, and I've been able to get a new fender and fix the hood but when I search for the color it doesn't seem even remotely close and I'm at a dead end.

Please help if you can.

Alex

the color code would have been on a sticker on the bottom of the hood.

I should’ve been more clear. It’s not the original color of the repu. It was originally white, and the sticker was removed when painted the green color.

I’ve been to the website you linked before, but unfortunately the Neptune green (paint code EX) is not even close.

seems more like a custom color ... either that or somebody mixed it up wrong

it certainly doesn’t match up to the EX code

very possible, and i tend to lean toward that explanation. i've seen it many times over the years. it even happened to my brother with his first Rx-7 (Sunrise Red, 1983). he had the whole car painted over and it came out looking this weird-looking (almost cartoonish), bright shade of red.

I think my only hope is taking the banged up fender that still has 98% of the paint to a local shop that can scan it. I was told there's one close to me, and see what they come up with.

The original owner was the one that told me it was Neptune green, so I think the previous poster is right. May of just been mixed wrong.
