Still having trouble choosing a color
I'm still having trouble choosing a color. My thing is that i don't want my car to have a color that anyone else has. I don't want some bright *** green either. I'm looking for a nice clean color. The color that i'm thinking of now is like a tan champain kind of a color. That and i've never seen it before and it's a suttle color. I need help on this guys. Help me figure out a new color.

1. You don't want a factory color
2. You don't want to pay for a Kandy color paint job
3. And it's a show car.....
If you are making a show car, paint is where you need to spend your money. However, simply going with a different shade of the original color of the car is an easy way to have a change, yet not force you to strip the car down to repaint everywhere.
There was a thread a few years ago showing various Reds used on RX-7s. There was a deep red used which was something like Ferrari Red. It was very nice.

BTW, you don't have to use "RED" per say, but there are a lot of things you can do with red to make it nice. Here's an example of a car that had some other things mixed into to his red:
Here's another red car (with gold metallic flake):
In the dark, it looks red. When the sun hits it, the gold flakes turns it almost a Sunburst Orange color.

I say a light metallic blue... not too metallic though.
Look at the second pic, the car all the way to the right.
Now that's what I'm talking about!

Wow if I was going to all the trouble of painting my car a different color, show car or not, I would kick the **** out of myself if I didn't go with one of those gorgeous Kandy colors...

i'm not totally ruling a kandy color out. and my car started out red, and i'm not really a red or blue car kind of a person. if i did a red i was thinking of like a dark forest cherry color. a really dark red but not quiet black. I've even looked through years and years of car paint chips and i still havn't found anything.

I plan on painting my 7 this summer, and I was at my local auto parts store looking at ppg paint samples and I found a Chrysler color that was real nice it was a dark metalic blue so dark it looks black until the sun hits it then its a deep blue, also Hyundai has a lot of nice colors (there cars suck but good colors)
or how bout the new sunburst orange I've seen a fer rangers and grand am's with it, its really nice but I think fords is a little darker
