I knew that...if it was stock I'd have figured it out already. I've been working on this for days trying to figure out what color it is. The owner of the car on this forum won't get back to me on it, so I'm trying to reach out for some help.

If it's not stock, why the **** are you asking us for then?
We're not all on Pantone certified monitors which can see TRUE color.
On top of that, the photo looks tweaked.
We can GUESS at the color, but you're wasting your time trying to get a straight answer unless the guy who either painted the car or owns the car actually gives you an answer.

Clearly it's not stock...but that doesn't mean people on this forum have been around the block a time or two, now does it Mr. High Horse?

Anyways, I got in touch with the guy finally and it's actually Viper Blue Pearl Metallic. Kick ***.

Paint code for that colour is SBE

And FWIW, either the photos don't show that colour well, or it was a mutt mix because that colour (SBE) has far more metallic in it then what appears on that car.

EDIT: This is SBE,

I guess you haven't been reading the replies, huh...

I've dabbled enough in computer graphics and auto body enough to know that peering at a picture on your computer and nailing the exact color is next to impossible.
What if it was some custom mix?
Have you ever thought of that?
If it was, you're fucked, cause guessing on an OEM color will get you no where.

If I had to take a GUESS, I would've went with WRX blue or the blue on a stock Acura NSX that I seen the morning...

I don't think this is the same paint as the Electron Blue on the Civic Si's?

EDIT: This is SBE,
I bet you the base (silver?) coat is not the same.
If the color coat is indeed that Viper Blue, the wrong base undercoat would easily change the color like that.
(This is not really directed at you, since you already know this.)

SBE, according to the Viper forums would be incorrect. It's PBE. Primary (P) and Secondary (S)...secondary is the color of whatever stripes are painted on.

The owner sent me more pictures that were less messed with. The car is gorgeous! There is a TON of metallic in the paint...he sent me a close up of it. Flakes are all over the place. He just did some fancy photography and post processing to make it really pop.

By the way, the stock color of the blue FC is Sunrise Red like my car. I'm wondering if I should use a black tinted primer though? Make it just a little darker?

Well, I dropped the car off today. It's the last time I'll ever see it red.. I literally just stood there and stared at my car from different angles. Grace is taking off the red dress and slipping into something a little more comfortable now.

On a more serious note, she threw a ******* bitch fit on the way over and decided to puke out all of my precious R-12...my precious precious well maintained properly charged A/C has been ruined thanks to what is most likely a bad O-ring. Thank god it's one of the only good things the previous owner(s) did to the car....take care of the A/C system in order to bear the Georgia summers. And now it's gone...

But no worries, I've got R-12 stashed...so when I get the car back, I shall fix whatever has broken and most likely I'll replace all of the O-rings and charge it back up. Sweet.

Still can't believe I'm painting this car. I never though I'd paint any car...it just seemed like an expensive thing that could go very badly if the color wasn't spot on.
