DynoMat thoughts

Wanted to reduce in cabin noise, so I've been pricing dynomat, and this stuff is really expensive.

Are there any other less expensive alternatives, or am I being a cheap ***? LOL

Take a look at Lizard Skin

Sound Control Insulation : Lizardskin

Won't guarantee that it's cheaper but fulfills the same end goal but is a slightly different product.

Lowes and Home depot sells a product very similar in the roofing section... I never used it but I heard it has a bit of a tar smell for a day or two but works just as well as dynamat for a fraction of the price.... There are also others like hushmat, boommat, fatmat, and several others that are a bit cheaper with the same end results... look around on ebay and you can find some deals.... good luck!!

Great suggestion Tanj!

I suppose Lizard Skin has it's advantages, coverage amount control, and easier to apply to contoured areas. Price wise, they appear to be almost the same, if you already own a spray gun.

One 2 gallon ($149) Lizard Skin container covers @ 100 sq. ft. @.020" coating thickness.

Dynomat Bulk Pack ($149) contains 9 sheets 18" x 32" (@ 36 sq. ft. @ .067")

@ 73rx313b, I've heard of the roofing product at Home Depot, don't know anyone that has used it. I'll do my research on all the other products you mentioned. I guess I want to get the best results for the best price.

@Dave, where in downtown? do they have a site?

Thanks fellas!

I do suggest that you be very meticulous when doing all window weather stripping. My car still has all the original ones and when driving it feels like the windows vibrating is what makes the most sound.

I used the LizardSkin on the inside and underneath on my REPU build. It sprays nice and lays down great.

Ouch! I was gonna use Dynamat too, hadn't bothered pricing it out yet. Still a ways to go until I need it. That's gonna hurt.
