Diff Question For Mazda RX3 sedan conversion

Hi to modders out there,

I'm David from indonesia. I'm planning to do engine conversion project. I'm still blind about the diff matter. Can the stock diff be used ? If it is, what pinion gear ratio would be preferable ? I'm only using the car within the city, hardly go to highway. Which pinion gear can I use from ?

Your reply is highly appreciated. Thank you very much,

David L

Stock is 3.7 qnd here in the states, SP models have snort pinion shaft like the 79-85 rx7 whike non-sp have long pinion shaft. Use pre83 gsl 3rd member as it has lsd and same axle but you need to make the driveshaft longer

Youre correct. Driving wisethe dfference between 3.7 to 4.10 is hardly noticeable. if i can only afford a 4.30 from a S2000, i will go with that for street/freeway driving

I parted out a 77SP RX-3 last year. I have the complete diff drum to drum and the driveshaft. Everything else is gone already.
