Nice looking project. I've been away from this site for quite some time. Thought I would drop by and look around. I've been busy with family and work so posting is way down!
My car is still streetable when the windshield is in place, but noise is my big problem. As I get older, the loud nature of the car bothers me on the street - no problem when helmet is on racing.

I just got three Magnaflow mufflers in 2.5" to hopefully quiet this thing down for the street. I too have found that I don't care for loud stuff as much as I used to. This MG and the GLC project are just way too loud inside anymore. Gotta put what I've learned about exhausts to the test.

Yeah the clutch pedal feels like it will be just right. Short travel, but not heavy. It will probably feel a bit like the classic RB SS pressure plate and HD disc in a 1st gen but without the hassle/cost/car.

My exhaust was in the planning stage for the better part of a year before deciding what I would do. I was worried that there would not be enough room under the floorboards due to how straight and flat it is under there.
The old setup, built by the PO who installed the 12A, was just a long 1 7/8" pipe with some 2" pieces here and there, with a shorty header at the beginning and a single long Rotary Engineering glasspack under the bumper with a Monza non-resonated dual tip. A really sad exhaust system that quickly ran out of breath with my 13B and was too loud inside for comfortable driving on the street. Also pretty loud out the back.
The ground clearance was ok even though the old pipe was not tucked very well. I wanted to increase my pipe size to 2.5" and add a round Magnaflow to replace the old RE glasspack but realized I needed to add some additional mufflers somewhere because noise goes up with pipe diameter. A couple of Magnaflow ovals should do the trick. But where to put them?

Help!!!!!!!!!! I lost the clutch throw out lever pivot stud that bolts into tranny casing. I don't know where the F it's. Can I make one? Does anyone have the dimensions? It's a 5 speed 1987

Well here's my hit list. Drive shaft, throttle cable, brake master cylinders, clutch master cylinder, brake lines, pre-silencer, muffler, seats, and gauges. Don't sound like much but I suspect the brakes and drive shaft may be science projects. Should be a go by June, God willing and the creek don't rise!!!!!

Just re-read your posts looking for whether you listed what instruments you plan on using but didn't find any info. Have you picked up gauges yet or know what you'll be using? I need to find a tach (5") to fit into the Datsun dash. I can get my stock tach converted over to electronic but I want something that shows more than 7k rpm. I noticed you had mentioned Miata seats. Quite a few Datsun Roadster guys went this route and while they say the seats are extremely comfortable compared to the stock units, they sit rather high even when bolted directly to the floor (my wife's Miata dwarfs my car when they're parked side by side!). I'm planning on running the Corbeau "Classic" fixed back bucket on the driver's side. This model comes with a headrest and looks "right" in the car. Just another option.

Hey Kent, as for gauges I'm going to go with the Bomber Gauges and I think the bomber seats as well, I like the looks. What do you think?

Sweet! Those seats will look great in your car (better than the Miata ones but that's just me)! Good choice on the gauges also. At this point I'm on the cheap so only one seat for the time being (wife gets the stock passenger seat!) and a tach. I went over all your photos and man that thing has come a long way! Summer's right around the corner!
