Better brakes for the RX4
Better brakes for the RX4
Ok old schoolers tell me what you think about this project.
Please keep in mind I did not want a big brake kit [that would have been easier]
So i started this project last year with a few key goals
1 vented rotors
2 readily available parts
3 keep it mazda
4 must fit under 13'' wheels
5 bolt on with little to no modifacation
6 STOP THE DAMN CAR
After many prototypes i came up witha good combo
1 vented rotor bolts to stock hub [wheel track does not change
2 newer mazda calipers [plenty of preformance brake pad selection]
3 custom milled caliper brackets [ made it to fit RX2,3 and 4]
4 stainless brake lines with banjo bolt to go from coarse to fine thread
I have about 6 months drive time on this setup, works great. I feel its a good upgrade from the solid rotor and it fits all my key goals
I'll make a kit for the rear next.
