I would kill for a 3 again and maybe a REPU, I have access to a three car trailer maybe I can get a load going to Ohio/Indiana, or if the interest is there 2 loads.

What's the latest on this....

They plan to start crushing within the next month or two, so time is short. xrotaryguy and I were out there last weekend for 3 hours taking pics. I'll post some of mine tonight. If anyone is serious about rescuing some of these they better plan some vacation time soon and start heading our way!

Are they willing to sell parts off of cars, or is it whole car only?

Hey guys,

Sorry I'm not a rotary though they are amazing, I am a Citroen nut, and have other friends who are as well. One of my bros showed me this page and it's sad! I knwo a lot of folks who would be interested in spares or whole cars! I'd love to snag a ton of parts off one of the Citroens! Hopefully, I could get a road crew together. That would be somehting else.

Grab what you can while you can. After that, it'sjust a memory. We had a wrecker up here in NorCal, that was like this place. It's all gone now. So sad.

Save those 510s you guys!

Looks like I am having trouble with band width limits on my photobucket account haha. It looks like the slide show still works. Hopefully everyone can see the cars. I am derecting several other sites to this thread. I know several of you are doing the same so...

There's quite a bit to respont to here.

Have you found out what they'll let these cars go for yet?
They usually want $1,000 to $3000 for a car. Thats a lot for a junk yard car. Thats also why I'm trying to get a list started. I would like to go to these guys and see how much they would let say... 10 cars go for. I think that the list is starting to solidify... kinda. I really dont think that a lot of people are ready to come up with the cash. I'm complaining mind you. I'm one of the guys that isn't going to buy a car. .

Citroens! Hopefully, I could get a road crew together. That would be somehting else.
That would be great! Any one who can get anything together! If you do manage to get anything going would you let us know? I'd like to add you guys to the list so that we can get some decent prices. I'm really interested in getting prices down. I don't want to try to be a cheap ***. I just realize that if the price isn't right, then the cars will get squished. So lets try and do this as a group.

Are they willing to sell parts off of cars, or is it whole car only?
Yes you can still buy parts. They will ship too. They ship all over the country I believe.

I have access to a three car trailer maybe I can get a load going to Ohio/Indiana, or if the interest is there 2 loads. What's the latest on this....
The latest is that we can't seem to line up a car houler that will haul salvage vehicles. Their insurance will not cover it because parts may fall off the vehicle while it is being transported. If you do have access to a trailer like that then I suggest we all start talking to you about getting a few of these cars back east . You've been drafted into the Salvage Army. Is this a buddy of yours that has the trailer?

what about PODS for the cars? Will they fit? Will PODS transport x-country?
Is that kind of like a mobile mini? Like those things that people put on their lawn when they are moving into a house? I'm not sure. I just put in a request for a price on a unit from Mobile Mini. Lets see how that goes.

Damn. Somebody put in a call to Leno.
My buddy (hemitheus on this forum) posted something to his site. Hopefully that does somehting.

Roll call:

phoenixR34 (azsolo2.com): Fiat 500
jOoftheworld (azsolo2.com): 2002, a 510, a triumph or maybe an mg
Mindy Cross (azsolo2.com): Le Car
FcDrifter13 (Rx7club.com): 2 Starions? a 510? 2 dr, 4 dr or wagon? (maybe)
13b4Me (Rx7club.com): Rx3, rx4, 510, 240 Z (maybe)
goopy (Rx7club.com): 808 or yellow GLC or both...? (maybe)
andrewdruiz (Rx7club.com): 2 Door 510 of Rx3 or Rx2 (maybe)
nutbagsan (Rx7club.com): 2002? Rx2? 510? (maybe maybe maybe)
RedTargaFc3S (AzRx7.com): REPU?
Hemitheus (azrx7.com): Fiat 850 spyder?

If you guys want to help solidify the list for me feel free to copy and paste it in your new post. For example, if goopy decides that he DEFINATELY wants an 808 than when he posts next time he would post the list with out the GLC and all the question marks and maybe's. That way I can tell the yard that we want to buy X number of cars when I ask for a price.

I really appreciate all the ideas that have been brought to the table. I know that I have shot some of them down but thats just the way it goes. Please, if you feel that we have over looked any options, let us know.

Thanks guys,

Im serious aslong as i can afford the car + shipping

If you have good photo's of the 510 uploaded, post or pm me the link please. a solid body roller would be prefered, and engine isnt required because well.. it would be rotary powered

Im not a fan of body work / not very good at it, so the if i could get away with not having to replace exterior panels, i woudl be a happy man.

They have 60's and early 70's vintage 510 coups, sedans and wagons. I think that I posted a link to a slide show on page 3 or 4. One or two of the slide shows has quite a few Datsuns in it.

They have several Rx3's. Again check the pictures / slides that have been posted. There are no R100's. They had one a while back. As I hear it, it sold the first week that it was there.

I should try to get ahold of them, I could really use some parts, or a part from them.

Angry

For those of you who know me Banzai.... etc

I talked (but only by phone) with these guys about a week ago, they WILL NOT sell the cars individually, the former yard(where the cars are) has actually already been sold. They will keep selling parts off the cars (business as usual) until the new owner is ready to build on the property and crush what is left. When contacting these guys remember that they deal with alot of collectable metal and do believe that what they have is gold. If you looked at the pictures you saw a early 12a with a tranny from an Rx2 or Rx3(probably the Rx3 i bought the engine mount bracket from about 5 years ago) this one engine and tranny that is in very poor shape will cost you 700$ 350 for the enigne 350 for the trans. I have had no luck in convincing them that they would be better off selling these at 200 each instead of only getting less than 50$ in scrap metal.

More power to you if you can get them to listen but even me spending over 4k$ in one shot made no impression.

I have pics of that R100 somewhere(sold about 1997 or 8) it actually was there for about 5 years before it sold, i missed it by 1 week, it was a super rare green 1972, went to a really cool guy named Juan I met him while he was building the car, he gave me the original 10A engine which i still have it is going into one of my own R100s if anyone is really good at posting pics i can try to dig out my pics that i took in 2000 of the same cars it is really funny they pretty much look the same now.

If it happens, put me in for an RX3 coupe....

The trailer is used by a friend who has a wrecking yard, he often runs to Texas with it....It can carry 3 cars and is a gooseneck connection.
