Actually... as long as we are picking apart BS from fact...

There is a point to having two boost gauges in a car. Typically, one goes before the intercooler, and one goes after the intercooler. This way, you can find out the exact pressure drop across your intercooler, and how running time and ambient heat would effect such efficiences.

Of course, anyone using this would probably use a dual-needle pressure gauge, and would be seriously concerned with running their system as efficeintly as possible (hardcore racer), but the fact remains that there is indeed a point to having two boost gauges.

Would you tell a professional racer that he was a moron and a ricer b/c he had two boost gauges?

Are different engines in the 2 Rx8's or one is just detuned for better economy?
Mazda plan to continue the rx-7 family, the next one using the same engine as the rx-8 but turbo'd

The article I read said that there were going to be two available engines in the US....the base model was to have around 170 hp and the option was 247. I don't recall what mag it was in I will hafta check, but it specifically said two engines. Not a big deal anyway--the car is just coming out and there are already a shitload of forums, tech sites, and performance people getting their panties in a knot, so it wont be long before someone turnes an 8 into a 10 second car. I just wanna drive it....but I wouldn't give up my 7 for one!!

yeah, the auto version of the 8 is detuned...I specifically went to the site and did the little 'build your car' thing, just for the hell of it, as for the 25AE, please punch this idiot...or at least correct him...if he doesn't have the car, tell him to find it and point it out to you, if he says it isn't possible ask him why not, keep doing this kind of crap till he gives in, he will, trust me, I know, i do it to people all the time who seem to think that all RX's are turbo models (I love proving that one wrong, just gotta pop the hood on my vert, lol)

Alright. RX-8 Info:
The manual version has ~250hp and a 9000rpm redline. 3 intake and two exhaust ports for each rotor. This is the RENESIS motor.
The automatic version is changed because the torque converter in it could not handle 9000rpm - it revs to about 7500rpm. That's why it only has 210hp. (It does have more peak torque than the manual, though.)

The car runs a 14.5 @ 95.x, btw. (All this info is from the new Road & Track.)

Too late for an edit, but: the Automatic version of the engine does not have the three intake/two exhaust port design, it's two/two.

No, see, you run one boost gauge to the intake manifold, and the other boost gauge to the exhaust manifold, so you can keep track of how much backpressure you have before the turbo.

dont think im stupid, i mean i was 99% sure that all of it was BS, i was just asking to see if maybe there was some way he could be confused so much to think that. i dunno how he could mistake it for a 6 speed, and all that. owell, he just ddint know i guess...haha
