In WA or northern OR, who does the best porting job? HP!

Atkins rotary in Puyallup offers street porting for 350, but they don't have stages for an option. I emailed them and they said 25% hp increase was very possible, which was the figure for a place in cali which was on their links. So yea, anywhere in WA or even northern OR, who does the best porting or offers stages about 2?

They are smoother than the NRS seals and lighter than the RA seals
this is a quote I made in another thread, just to let you know what my personal opinion is.

Dan & Kathy Atkins are nice people, but being a nice person doesn't cut it when we are discussing the well-being of my car.

Pineapple Racing is an AMAZING shop, run a search on their name.

You will find many happy customers.

I've heard plenty of good and a little bad about both Atkins and Pineapple. I'd be willing to take my engine to either shop.

I don't think I've ever seen an Atkins streetport, so I don't know what kind of job they do. I have, however, seen Pineapple's large streetport, and they're pretty nice. I'm actually using a clone of said ports on my FB's end plates.

Oh, and this isn't a Honda forum, so don't try to talk about "stages" as most of us won't have any idea what you're talking about. Be specific about your expected usage for the engine. Basically, if it's a street car, you don't want anything more than a streetport.

Dude, 2 of the top name rotary shops that are already mentioned(Atkins and Pineapple) are in the immediate area, and are known for the quality of their work.

As far as "stages" go, that is nothing more than a rice boy marketing gimmick.

Porting needs to be based on what your goals and needs are for your car, streetability/drivability, and Horsepower goals. You cannot simply lump those factors in to one definition of one shops definition of "stage", it is based on your needs and wants.

Porting is a fine art in order to balance all of those factors I mentioned above.

There is a hell of alot more to consider with porting than just peak HP. It sounds like you need to do more research about porting in general.

Are you planning on using the stock intake? Remember that it's tuned to take advantage of stock intake port timing. The exhaust port timing also affects exhaust tuning.

Everything works as a system; you can't really say that one port will definitely make more power than the other because every setup is different.

There is so much you haven't told us...

We need to know:

Engine Series?
NA or Turbo?
Stationary flow modifications intake? (intake manifold selection?, throttle body?, intake?)
Stationary modifications exhaust? (straight pipe?, stock?, tubular manifold?)
If turbo, what turbo or turbos??? possibly supercharged???

Vehicle application? (AUTOX?, drift?, drag?, cruiser?, canyon carver? road course?)

building a car isa sum of all the working parts, not just who has the biggest ports...

Damn you, stole my next post. Anyways, well said my good man, or Pirate, cant tell from your avatar.

Mr. Pothead, As opposed to these local places, I will go slightly off topic and name the best, hands down, number one place.

www.bdcmotorsports.com, Contact Brian and discuss your setup and goals for the motor.

Engine still isn't running but have a large street port from Pineapple Racing.

In addition Rob was super nice and very very very knowledgeable. I would give him a call at Pineapple. Just let him know what your looking for in the area of HP. I'm sure you'll be overwhelmed but it will give you an idea.

Pineapple Racing is always a + in my book.

Always friendly, always willing to help, and always a good time when you talk to the guys that work there.

Speaking from personal experience, and from others who drove my "Ito" by ArmyofOne, I would take my motor to Jesus for porting before either of the mentioned shops. Nothing against them. But I've seen a few "street" ports compared to his and driven them too, His work is top notch and he's a damned nice guy! Matter of fact I loved the last one so much I have another already there to be ported just the same!
