Smile Tuning session by Brian from BDC?

Anyone need to have the car tune by Brian from BDC?
I am thinking about getting Brian to come here to the tune th FD. Anyone? Maybe we can do group of 4 or 5? I still need to contact Brian about how many he will be comfortable to tune in a day.
Maybe someone that already got tune by Brian can chime in.

Yeah but they're trying to organize something in Bellingham. And are not willing to move the location

I also spoke with him about it on FB and he said he hasn't gotten any more info since the original inquiry by the OP of that thread regarding a possible tuning date out here. So I don't think they're making any progress on the Bellingham gig.

Do it Daniels! Get a more central location for those interested

I am trying to get this going by September the latest. So, anyone that want in can get the car ready.
I already contacted Brian via PM, I am waiting for his reply.

Howdy Mr Daniels, I'll respond to you here.

I'm game for it! I haven't received word from the original party interested from up in that area in a few months. If he calls, I'd rather not step on anybody's toes and would prefer to get both parties put together for a single, several-day session if that's do-able. Otherwise, no money has been spent to my knowledge so if there's no response soon then we can go ahead with this one. Sound good?

i may be interested in jumping in on this one, depending on the date. haven't heard anything local for a while. Brian, would you maybe ask Don (quick_spoolin) if he wouldn't mind combining these efforts or something? I personally wouldn't mind heading down to the seattle area for a day, or even taking a day off work.

I'd be down for sometime in august. heading off for school in sept. sometime so it would be harder for me then. I'll keep checking this thread for updates. count me in if this gains traction.

I'd like to figure out how to combine both Daniels' and Don's efforts. I think it makes a lot more sense to just have one larger event instead of two separate ones.

As far as everything else goes, my rates are $400 flat for each car with the only exceptions being heavy mechanical work that winds up taking me several hours longer to do a car as well as any heavy aux injection stuff that requires a fully built, second map to be made. As far as my travel expenses, I don't do my own airfare but I do cover my other expenses. I prefer to stay at someone's house if possible. For airfare, I recommend taking deposits and splitting it up evenly amongst those who need work done.

Hopefully Don will chime in as he's conveyed to me that he's still interested and has a location for a dyno if that wins up panning out.

Hope that helps,

B

IIRC Brian, you do most of your tuning without the use of a dyno, correct? If that's the case I amy even be able to just host the damn thing. There are some great low traffic straight roads close by you could get some good pulls on. And plenty of stop signs to test the driveability in the immediate vicinity

Yep I prefer to do the majority of it without a dyno especially for regular drivability. I'm a believer in the notion that a car needs to be tuned in the environment it's going to be driven in. While a dyno is a great tuning tool for high loads stuff, I still feel street stuff is the way to go for the average modified car. Stuff like restrictive laws, bad weather, or a completely illegal or remarkably powerful car require a dyno.

Can someone contact Don, and ask when he would like the tuning date at?
Brian, do you usually do on weekend or weekdays? How many days you need? I guess that would usually depend on how many cars.
Myself, I need to do on either Sunday or Monday.
I am thinking about doing on the last week of August.

I talked to him in a couple of PM's and sent him the link to this thread but I've not spoken to him on the phone.

Most folks can only do this on the weekend. I do every day, though. The way that I normally schedule this out is 3 cars per day. That's what I can do most of the time comfortably assuming that a car doesn't need a bunch of work done. Most 3rd gens are a bit quicker whereas the 2nd gens sometimes needs things re-done. Nothing against the 2nd gen guys (I am one); that's just been my experience. As far as the actual days, I do any day of the week. Self-employed guys don't get weekends off.

put me on that list, my schedual isn't as flexiable friday saturday would be best for me, as I work sunday through friday, but if its a spot closes enough to whidbey island I could possible drive out drop my car off with upgrade or bryan an pick it up the next day. this all being said that I get the *cursing* transmission fixed.
So I'll be watchin this thread,

I can, AugieDogie. I'll need to take a closer look at it but from what I already know about them they seem extremely easy.

i'm here and I still want to get a session for the guys up here. I have had interest from some of my BC buddies, and for them to go to seattle is a little far. It is easier for then to make a short trip across the border to my place then the long drive to seattle. All we need to do is coordinate when Brian comes up and simply have him up north a few days and down south a few days. Brian give me a ring and Daniels send me a p/m and lets work this out. Sorry I haven't been on for a while, but the development company I work for is closing a lot of its divisions and I have been traveling a lot in preparation of new ownership and foreclosures.

Bellingham to Seattle is not that far. It worth the drive for a safe tuning engine that will not blow.
Anyone that want to tune, please put your name on the list.

Also, probably will want to do dyno as well after finish with street tuning.
Let me know if this is ok with you Brian.
