The Supersonics are going to OKC.

Does anyone care? I sure as hell do. I drove Detlef Schrempf to the airport today....he was my favorite player when I was a kid. Hell when I was a lil guy I used to pretend I was him when I'd shoot hoops. I guess meeting him today was an omen that the Sonics are all but history. I feel like I lost a family member

No, their front office has been in shambles for years and has horrible scouting and drafting abilities... They're effed for years to come with the staff they have and players they have.

Portland on the other hand, now they have a lot of potential with a good coach, awesome owner, great prospects and young players, and they know how to scout and develop talent.

Clay bennet had moving trucks there at the Key at 4 am this morning!
Anyway we get to keep the team name, the team colors, and all the banenrs and the trophies they have won, the couple Western Conference Champs and the NBA Title.
If the NBA doesn't provide us a team by 2013, Clay Bennet will owe the city another $30 million, HOWEVER this is contigent on the Key getting a $300 million dollar rennovation. If the rennovation doesn't happen, he doesn't have to pay anything. And we all know that won't happen. It bills for a Key rennovation wouldn't pass when the team was here, it has no chance of passing with the team gone. As for basketball, I honestly don't care if we have a team or not, and it was shown that most of the area feels like I do. People may li9ke having a NBA team in town, but when the team is run so poorly, and is a perrenial loser, people just don't care what happens., with the expecetionb being the Hawks. This city is the biggest bandwagon/fairweather city in the country. Apart from a few die hard loyalist fans, people are only fans when a team is doing good. The city got what it deserved. However you can't tell me howard Schultz had no idea the team was going to move when he sold it. That's total bullshit, he knew and sold them anyway. Further proof of that is he withdrew his court case against Clay Bennet to make him keep the Sonics in town, even though most lawyers/judges siad he had an excellent chance of winning. Didn't know my ***! Still sad to see them go though.

I'm sick of paying taxes out the *** to keep a whole crew of overpaid, egotistical, immature adults around. I say get the **** out, they aren't the seahawks so no one will care in two years anyway, Am I right ???? Hell Yes!!! Seattle has the most fairweather fans anywhere. THis has been proven so many times.

Basketball is over in Seattle.

I couldn't agree more. Basketball is done, stop your bitching and deal with it. You don't really care the Sonics are gone, you just want something to bitch about while you go to Knitting Night at a Mariners' game.

No its still sad, that team had a lot of history in Seattle, and its not the fans fault at all. I agree it wasn't fair for the tax payers to pay for another stadium when they already paid for the two and key arena was renovated not too long ago.

It's sad that Schultz sold a team to a group of Oklahoma City buys whens it was clear to everyone what their intentions were going to be even if there weren't being straight forward, and its sad that David Stern is such a bitch and approved the sale and the move.

Hell, it's all about money. Seattle got their $75 million, OKC got a mediocre team. I get so burned watching ex Sonics in the playoffs starting for other teams. Their front office staff would trade away Kobe Bryant for a buck..
Has anyone besides me noticed that the Blazers and Portland were starting to go at it about the horrible rose garden venue, but as soon as the Sonics were sold, it all dropped?
Then McMillan went to Portland? Then the microsoft money started to work on the Key Arena revamp?
Maybe I am too suspicious, but I am guessing we will see Portland relocate to Seattle in a new/improved Key Arena right after Seattle gets the last $30 million of the Bennet cash...
Conspiracy theory?

I'd love to have the Blazers!! Any team owned by Paul Allen is destined to continue to be successful. And in 2 years if not this next year Portland will begin their annual playoff runs. They know what they're doing when it comes to player management. And they have a legitimate coach. Sonics haven't since theirs went to Portland

You all know it'd be a different story if the Sonics were any good. I can't remember the last time I had any interest in any Sonic game. I just can't believe that the team really thinks they're worth our money.

If they really want us to put $$$ into them, then earn it. Play well, win games and make us happy to pay for their million dollar lives. We're not here to pay for them. They're here to entertain us, and if they're not worth my money they're not gonna get it. Who gives a F$*$*% if they go elsewhere. They're gonna suck there too.

Olajuwon never played for the Sonics... He played for the Houston Rockets his entire career...

DO you mean Payton, or Kemp, or Schrempf, or Vin Baker when he was good?
