HKS (ssbov) or Turbosmart supersonic bov?

Hello everyone,
What are your opinions on the HKS super seq blow off valve of the turbosmart supersonic? Does anyone have any of these on their cars?
Which would you prefer?
Here are some images to identify them.

This is a link to an ebay auction of a univeral fit.

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/NEW-HKS-Style...QQcmdZViewItem

It is a HKS style but don't think it's HKS, does this matter?
What do you think?

If I was you i would not buy a BOV from ebay. It is a mechanical part that might be poorly reproduced. Just save a little more money to make sure you get the real deal.

i have the hks ssqv bov on my FD and i love it. takes some getting used to though, i know some people that dont like it as well. i think the noise it gives off takes some getting used to, its a little on the high pitched side (kinda attracts attention). the noise can be changed though with the optional inserts that you can purchase, the purple insert i believe makes it a more deeper sound while the gold one is an ever higher sharper pitched sound than the stock insert that the bov comes with. hope this helps

cheers
Germ

i have the HKS ssbov and i love it. I've tried greddy, blitz, apexi, on other cars i previously had. and as far as style, fitment, and sound, i like the HKS the best. it sounds somewhere between a greddy and blitz. They also have 2 other inserts u can get that changes the sound to more air blast than high pitch sound.

definitly HKS is higher quality than the eby bov, you want to ensure you don't get boost leak in the long run from worn rubber seals or cheap valve.

you can often find HKS one on ebay as well, w/ flange specifically designed for FD.

Thank you everyone, i guess you've made my decision, HKS it is.
Would it be alright to purchase one from Ebay? Brand or second hand? Also may i ask does it matter if it's on HKS style and not actualy HKS?

Both are junk. Get a Tial BOV. It may not be the rice factor you need, but its the best functioning one on the market.

People already answered that for you. If you want an HKS, then buy an HKS. If you want an HK-Ebay, then get that one. They in fact are NOT the same thing. Just looks like it. The BOV is more than something that makes a cool sound. It's a very critical part to keep your performance good and most importantly, Keeping your turbos reliable.

I think "style" refers to looks and design, not necessarily brand quality.

Not saying they don't work. I'm a true believer of perfromance alternatives. Just saying they're not the same.

i say dont' get a bootleg unless you can actually mess with it, buying off ebay is sort of unsafe because a bootleg can either be a real piece of **** or be a good functioning copy so if it works fine and everything i say by all means get it and save some cash but if i was buying through ebay i would shoot for the real deal HKS because they have quality control and have a good reputation for making quality products and it might even have a warranty. i believe they make a kit specifically for the FD rx7 so i would go for that one instead of the universal because your install will be easier, unless you plan on doing a custom turbo setup.
