Porting doesn't cost alot, but to do the porting you need to remove the engine from the car tear the block apart. So your most likely looking at a rebuild kit at ~$800, plus ~$200-500 to port the engine, and probably you'll encounter parts that are out of spec, so plan to get new housings, or other misc items. All in all, this can become very costly very quickly. Take a look at Atkins Rotary in Wa, and I believe Pineapple Racing in Portland Or still does engine work.

If your looking for a little more pep, get a Racing Beat exhaust system, or look into Corksport's header. There is some power to be made with a quality aftermarket header.

Good luck!

The cat-back won't do much in the way of adding power. It may shift the powerband upwards some, but more often than not you can hurt overall power by getting an exhaust that will flow too freely. Keep in mind this is regarding the S4 models, and not so much the S5 cars. Not to mention any cheap mufflers are often destroyed in a short order as the 'glass wool' will melt inside of the muffler.

I would start researching proper exhaust systems and stop thinking of porting unless your in need of an engine rebuild. Take your time and don't be afraid to spend some serious cash on a quality exhaust. Racing beat, Borla, and a few select others are actually quality. For the header and cat/presilencer, I'd stick with Racing Beat.

Magnaflow is effectively the same as Borla internally. And no, you're not ever going to hurt performance by having an exhaust that flows "too freely". I think what ZeroDrift is referring to is the 6-port actuators not opening with too little backpressure, but as long as you have a reliable way to open them at the right time, you want to have as little backpressure in the exhaust as possible. Most important is the header design. Racing Beat's headers leave a lot to be desired. I'm not familiar with Corksport's, but it looks very similar to Racing Beat's design.

Well, there is only one header on a rotary. If you have one... If it's stock it's jsut an exhaust manifold. So i have a rotary engineering header on my car, not headers. There are 2 headers on a typical V8 car. One header on one cylender bank and one on the other. Sorry I hate when people say headers when there is only one. 99% of Honduh kids call a header "headers"
