Where?

Where is this going to be done at?

Just got my Project running... But it hasn't been down the road yet.

What are some of the details? Location?
Do I need a WideBand? Will one be used?
On the Dyno? or on the street? (I guess that depends on the location).

I've got a Haltech E6K

It's happening July 26 and 27.

Deposits were already due to Steve and deposits are due for the dyno this week... PM z-beater if you're seriously interested

You may be a bit late to get in on this... But it is all dyno tuning. Steve has his own wideband, as well as the shop having one in case his decides to take a crap this session as well, sorry Steve hopefully I didn't just jinx you

Updated Schedule

Bob: Sounds good. Looks like we are all set to go then. See you on tune day.

Hank: Good going. Good luck getting her done on time.

Tweak: Same to you. Sounds like there is quite a bit of work left.

Dave: Thanks for sending that in. I will post a pre-tune checklist later this week when I have a moment to write something up.

Tim: No luck.

Dac: You are pretty late. Where were you a week ago? just kidding You need to contact Steve today and arrange with him(his SN is Pluto on this forum). I will need to run it by Kevin Anderson AFTER I hear back from you to see if we can fit you in. We only have one more open spot. After you no more.

Location: Jet City Tuning
Wideband: Steve will bring one.
Dyno or Street: Dyno

Price for Steve will run from 350-600 depending on your setup. Dyno will run from 140-210 depending on your tune.

Chance: Slave is easy. At least it happened before the tune, not during!

Dave,

No word from The Spyder about riding shotgun; so either day is OK with me.

Updated Schedule

You must have dyno payment submitted on or before tomorrow to tune.

Bob: No problem. I am pretty flexible. I will give you until Monday to see what works. Monday I will lock in a day if you do not first.

Pre-tune checklist:

1. New plugs: If you are running a heavily modified setup you might want to run 10's. I have seen a few dyno sessions affected by this. Keep in mind you will need a special wrench for 10's.

2. New fuel filter: just standard maintenance

3. Oil: Please run 20w oil. It will be a hot day and the oil will tend to thin out a little. I personally run Valvoline durablend 20w. Affordable and easier to come by.

4. oil filter: duh!

5. Sound running car: please don't bring a mess to the dyno. If you are having issues please sort them out before tune day. There are some problems that we will encounter(they are rotary powered) but no headaches please.

Saturday:
10:00AM Dhays Dyno payment sent
12:00-12:30PM fine cuisine provided by Tim
12:30AM TweakGames Dyno payment sent
2:30PM Seth W

Plugs and fuel filter were done 6 months ago and then the plugs pulled and rechecked (by Jerry) a few months ago.

What do you mean by 20W? Are you talking 20W-50? I was going to change oil and filter again this weekend but was going to stick with 10W-30.

Yes Steve recommends all cars he tunes run 20w50 oil. Helps the engine stand up the the heat created by being a rotary and the added heat from the boost.

Keep in mind that Steve is from Texas. They get some serious heat down there. Mazda recommends 10W-30, so does Jerry. When I've tried heavier weights I've noticed a very large jump in my oil pressure, particularly when cold. I'll think about it, but I still may stay with the 30 weight base oils.

For me:
Winter = 10w30
Summer = 20w50

It does not hurt to have a little thicker oil when you are running continious pulls on a very hot day.

I just spoke with Marc aka The Spyder. Apparently Seth gave his spot to Marc, so The Spyder will be there.

We will probably caravan together; so may I be scheduled for Saturday afternoon?

Last day for Deposits! All dyno spots must be paid for tonight.

Chance: It might be worth it to grab a spare. It would stink to have it go out while you are on the dyno.

Bob/Marc: If Marc is going to do that he really needs to coordinate with Steve/myself. Here is why:

1. the spot that Seth has, was paid for in the last session. The 200 deposit should have been voided since Seth was not able to tune but Steve was being nice and letting him carry it over. In other words the $200 is non-transferrable. Marc will owe Steve $200.

2. Marc will still need to pay dyno time. Seth has yet to make a payment. If he wants the spot that needs to be done today.

Here is what Marc needs to do:

1. Contact Steve and make sure that he can fill Seth's spot. I am almost certain that Steve will be ok with this.

2. Send payment to Jet City Tuning for the dyno slot tonight.

3. Contact me and let me know what is going on.

It is a pretty short and easy list of tasks to acomplish. And I am confident that we can fit you in. Marc, if you have any issues with this Bob has my number, feel free to give me a call.

Mort: Thanks for the input.

Tweak: You are nuts.
