Well,
Just started the engine at 11 am sunday morning. started right up, has 70psi oil pressure at 1500rpm. Very little smoke on start up and sounds awesome. Have a small oil leak to cure from my manual oil pressure gauge line and going to make a road trip it the builders house for a little break in run.

UPDATE:
after a 100 plus mile drive today everything is running great. Still battling this oil leak at the oil pressure sender line. Changed the fitting and ferrel/nut. sill has a slight leak, very minor now but still there. going to do what the BOSS told me to do tomorrow and get it stopped. The fresh engine is a lot different in the exhaust note, not as loud, and no more odd vibrations at 2500 rpm, a true sign the old engine was on it's way out the door.
Will be doing some carb jetting tomorrow as the a/r is a little rich at cruise at low 12's. will change air correctors and see if I can get it into the 13 plus range, this will be a little bit of a challenge but I am used to doing a lot of jetting on new engines..........................so let the games begin. I have lots of jets so it will be a drive and tune day tomorrow.
Thanks everyone for following this post. the replys have been great. Just so happy to have my ride back on the road. Many thank to the man that made this all possible, I REALLY owe you a lot.

That was a nice startup for a fresh rebuild. I once had one start at half a crank (the GLC). Another start at one crank (the baja 13B test firing in the REPU). It's nice when they start up quick, like a Judge Ito/Jesus build.
Hey I have a suggestion for the oil leak. Take an old mushroom shaped stock sensor. Cut off the mushroom part so you have a nice length of hex shaped brass to work with. Drill and tap for NPT 1/8" 27. Install stock brass piece in engine, then install your gauge fitting in the brass piece, using thread tape or dope. That should correct any leak issues. The reason why this works is the engine has BSP 28 tapered threads which are similar but not quite exactly the same as NPT.
Another option is to chase the threads in the engine with an NPT tap, but there is some risk involved such as metal bits not getting fully cleaned out, broken bit in engine etc. I prefer to do this before assembly for obvious reasons.
Both ways work well and prevent leaks.

Curious, what grease did you use behind the corner seals? Did you use it behind any other seals? Kinda hard to tell from this pic. Does it burn off like Vaseline?
