OR Help removing engine?

I was wondering if anyone near the Corvallis area wants give me a hand this weekend pulling my FC's engine. I'll have beers for those who help. Also, it'd be great if you have/know of an engine crane we could use.

Didn't you just get your car? Blow it up already? I may be down there this weekend.

It was blown up already. I believed the guy when he showed me recent reports from diag and a tune-up saying engine was good and it was only a faulty TPS. Turns out they were forged, but that's something about after we're done with legal action.

Rotor two has zero compression. Time to rebuild. It'll give me some experience before rebuilding my 8's engine too. Not too upset about it, he'll get what's coming anyways.

Your 8 has a blown engine also? Geeze. My recommendation is to pull the engine with the transmission attached. Don't take off all the intake/wiring and such, just disconnect only the things connecting the engine/transmission to the car. Once you got it all out it is a lot easier to take everything off the engine when it is on the ground/hoist.

I will let you know if I am going to be down there this weekend.

The 8's engine isn't blown. It was in excellent condition when I took it out. It's just getting a port and polish among other fun things.

Yeah, I do still need help. I did start pulling parts and draining fluids today.

Since midterms really bite into my time, I was thinking about pulling it on Friday since my one class that day is canceled. Though, this depends on finding an engine crane I can borrow.

I pulled my engine with no crane. it isnt to heavy. All i did was take the tranny off. than strip it down to short block. put some chains on the hooks, put it a big metal bar ( could use a think peice of wood) and had my buddy on the other side. we just lifted it straight out

So after just a little more than four hours of work. Engine is just about ready to remove. Just need to disconnect oil lines, prop shaft, exhaust, a/c lines and engine and transmission mounts.

Yep, its all out. Posted pics in the what did you do to your rx7 today? thread.

Exedy OEM clutch and pressure plate as well as my Atkins master rebuild kit showed up today. Getting a set of irons on Friday, only needed one though, oh well. Silicone vacuum hose should be showing up any day and so should my RB exhaust manifold and Bonez cat should be here next week. Think my brake rebuild kit will be here on Monday. Hopefully, my intake manifold will be back from powdercoating next week as well.
