Oh yeah, anyone know the best source for Lexan around here? I will be needing a couple of big sheets for this project... thanks!

$550 is not bad at all for sleek headlights. Look at how much they go for 3rd gens, granted these are Rotary Extreme's prices and I'm sure vary, but you get the idea!!

$1350.00 Rotart Run Racing

$1500.00 RE-Induction

$1990.00 R-Magic

I think Adrian's point was "why pay all that when you can make it for less?"

Am I right?

I agree that they are too expensive even though that is a good price. I've always found them to be more about flash than functionality. They may weigh a little less and offer lower drag when the headlights are up but most racing is done durring the day.

What I am looking for is less weight than the motor+rotating headlight setup... I don't really care that much about how it looks lol. Function>Form.

This car is going for street legal (lol) so I need functioning headlights, but the headlight assy. for the RX weighed like 30 pounds when I took it off. I am sure I can do some ghettofabulous ones that weigh in around 5 lbs. for both sides... just use some ricer HID bulbs in a aluminum frame with a lexan cover rivetted to it. Gotta cut the bumper a bit, but that's no big deal. This car is made to be my learner car for OT stuff... future plans could include a Ultima

hell i think that we could just make you a bucket for them. it shouldn't be that hard. you don't even have to make a cover (lexan) for it if you got the right bulbs. or we could just fab it around the stock rectangle beams.

I'm working on a design for one right now, should be pretty easy to make out of a 4x4' aluminum sheet. Then top it with Lexan and rivet the Lexan on. Acutally, it should look kind of nice I will probably use two ricer HID bulbs per headlight. Yey. Operated by a switch on the instrument panel that I am working on...
