Ok dont know whats going on with that S4 engines turbo but you said the motor is in good shape. The black 88 shell that you have needs a motor and possibly more work besides a motor so maybe you should go for the S4 motor. Clay had multiple engines to choose from when he got his overseas motor and although you cant start the engine hopefully they will have some background on it. I would say try the S4 motor rebuild

hmmm went and looked at it again today, parts of the harness look damaged, not cut,but pretty dang beat up. The hardlines next to the turbo are black, these are teh ones that were glowing red when it was running. All together motor looks old, but it did run about 3 months ago...I asked if we could get it runnin again but someone took teh spark plugs off the car ect ect, they dont wanna bother with it....I dont think im gonna shovel out money if i cant see it run again.

you should seriously be thinking about rebuilding it anyway. I'm thinkin'
that it doesn't have much life left in it.....

sry to thread jack but, since I'm in the same boat and lookin at a rebuild,
Fumihiko, you know anywhere close to us (I'm in Kent) that I'd be able to
rebuild my engine? Live in an apartment, and Drift Office said they wanted
nothing to do with my car......

I don't have a cherry picker, and I've never pulled a rotary,
but that was what I was planning on was pulling it and trying
to rebuild it. I found a rebuild kit (Mazda OEM I think) for 120,
so I figure I'd give it a go.
Just want to get it daily driving till I got all the parts for a t2 swap.
I already was talkin a little to Shane, since he's never done it, and
I've never done it, but we both need to do it, about helpin each
other. Would make things a bit easier to have a second hand I'm
sure.

pulling an engine is cake.
lol believe me. its a one day thing.
do you have a garage at your apartment?
or would it be in a parking spot?
are you sure your apartment will allow you to do jazz like this too?

Nah, management here at my apartment are ****'s, I was checkin my
oil in my Subaru the other day and I had em' come down on me like an
iron fist......
So I gotta find a place to rebuild it, or pay whatever to have someone
rebuild it, which is dumb since I have two hands and the RX7 Workshop
manual.....
you guys pull your engines with a trans, or did you disconnect it from the
transfer case first?
