fd startup help

so my buddy, 240silvia on the forums, picked up an automatic fd on a trade for another car. supposedly the car was running a gm map sensor not the stock mazda one and the car was runnning in a "safe mode."

he picked up the oem map sensor and wired it in and the car ran fine for ten minutes or so. he shut it off and let it sit a few days and now the car wont start. we have listened and cant hear the fuel pump turn on with the key turned to on.

so he bought a new fuel pump and we installed it. still no difference.
any ideas? could he have wired in the map sensor wrong? apparently the car ran without the map sensor installed at all according to him

It had some jacked wiring. I can give you a hand, but not till I get back up there.

if the fuel pump isn't humming check the EGI fuse on the positive battery termanal, chances are the car ran for a bit then something shorted when u turned it off and popped the fuse. so thats a good way to start.

did you pull the spark plugs out while de-flooding it? cause cranking it over with the plugs in won't de-flood it. or maybe your plugs are fouled up.

you dont need a code reader, u just jumper a wire in the engine bay and it will flash a moris code threw the check engine light. search for it, thats what i did to pull codes, i forgot which pins to jumper tho lol
