Champcar / IRL merge!!!

Goodbye amazing Panoz DP-1, hello shitty looking, NA Dalara, but **** it if it ends the fued! I've been a die hard CART fan since 1990, and to see Paul Tracy and all of the boys back on the same road will be awesome. Too bad Franchitti is gone this year. That would have been fun to see he and PT together again. Now I expect everyone to tune in and support this kick *** unified series, and get the states back on the map in the open wheel motorsports world! There was a time in CART's heyday when they competed with NASCAR and F1 numbers. Maybe I'll support a gathering at my shop to watch the races this year. Look at the map for location www.apexrestoration.net We can tap the kegerator and BBQ some ****!?

Off the subject... your dent removal is $95 per panel, not per dent?

So are they moving to Champ Car chassis only with the merger? I'm unsure of your first sentence's meaning... I don't really follow racing that much... Just what I see for highlights on ESPN that doesn't include NASCAR

No, their going to the IRL Dallara/Honda chassis, which is old and sucks ***** compared the new Panoz/Cosworth chassis. The Merge is awesome news, but the logistics looks like it turned out less than ideal. It kinda looks like "CART" took a dirt nap and all the CART teams that were willing, plus some key track events went to the IRL series. I may be wrong, but that's what it looks like.

I can't wait for open wheel racing to step up in popularity by the masses. All that's needed now more US/Canadian drivers on the roster. Allmandinger/Tracy caliber, but one's that don't become NASCAR sellouts.

Yes..that is correct. If you have a gazillion dents in the one panel we'll need to talk, but typically $95 is the case!

When there was one series in the 90's, the drivers were making Nascar money. Tony George screwed the CART pooch when he opened the IRL in 96. Since then, CART turned Champcar has been a more successful series, just had horrible owners making equally or worse horrible business decisions. The Panoz is safer, better looking, more advanced, and cheaper to run than the Dallara. I thought it was developed to take the Honda engine however which leads me to my conspiracy theory....Panoz Chassis and turbocharged Honda power next year. That'll give Panoz enough time to manufacture more chassis for the Dallara teams. Hmmmm? Hmmmmm? I think it's a FACT!

Everyone watch Windtunnel tonight? Had George and Kalkhovan talking about this year. I expect in 2009 that Cosworth , Honda, Panoz and Lola will all be in the series! 2010 at the latest. Looking forward to this unified year. The Champcar teams will get their asses handed to them in the first half, but you never know how many Dallara engineers may goto the new arriving teams. Maybe I'll try to get a flight to Long beach this year after all!!!
