I am not super familiar with the SAFC. Chris would probably be better to answer that question. I know that me and him messed around with it when it was installed on his car.

No.

All of the skill that Steve brings to the table is a combination of Timing/Fuel/Experience etc. The SAFC just adjusts fuel, and not terribly well.

There are plenty of monkeys around here who can adjust just fuel.

^^ You are still a vendor?

Thanks for the help Ryan. I am sure that Chris and I looked like a couple of monkeys trying to tune his car.

I am doubtful that I will be able to make it to the July tune. I've got other issues to sort out before I can get it prepped and tuned. I'll still try to get everything ready, but until then take me off the list.

Hate to say it, but my car won't be ready by then after what I've found the last couple days.

Is there anywhere that shows Steve schedule as far as tune days? I wouldn't mind traveling 500 miles to get his brain in my ecu.

I just got my new site running. If anyone have tuning questions, scheduling, and FAQ on what to do prior to the tuning session. Please register yourself

It may be helpful if you guys would like to start posting in there.

Sorry to hear Clayton.

Spandy, what is the issue?

Thanks Steve.

If it would work better for people we could move the tune date out as well. Just an option.

I will need to know soon. So far, I have two deposits for the May tuning session (still holding on until I get all 5). You can view my calender on my website for an alternative date. I think I'm full until July though.

Steve, I meant moving the July date. Thanks for letting me know that not everyone has their deposits in.

For all those that are in the May tune session, please send your deposits in.

Thanks.

I'd be in favor of moving the July date back a bit. This will give me more time to prepair. Anyone else need more time?

I was really planning on the July date. It is already pretty late in the drift season, ( I should be able to catch maybe 1 event) and school for me starts in mid August. If we have to push it back, I guess there is nothing I can say. But how bout, we keep the July date (that is still 2 months away BTW) and then see where you stand. As I can see now we are almost over loaded for July, I can't see it being a problem getting another Steve Kan tuning group going for a later date also.

Just my opinion.

I recall that the July list was quite large a while ago and it may make more sense to break up the July date into 2 events. In either case, don't let my schedule set everyone else back. I will do what I can to be ready of course.

[QUOTE=z-beater;8140338]Sorry to hear Clayton.

QUOTE]

Time. I had to back track to fix some things that weren't quite right, so it's set me back.

I'm doing the rest of my build by myself as well, I want to learn how to do this and do it right rather than having help and not grasping the concept of things so next time a problem occurs, I can just fix it and be done with it. I really haven't had a problem so far, I just needed to grow the ***** to attack it head on.

Well, July date is still 3+months out, I was kinda jumping the gun out of frustration thinking I was never going to finish this with all that has gone wrong lately. But I'm going to hang on and see where I come out in a few weekends.

Edit: I wouldn't mind if the July date was pushed back as well. Doesn't matter because if I can't get this back on the road inside of 2 months then I wouldn't be making it anyday because I'm going to throw it over a cliff with myself inside of it. :lol

I just saw someone else asking so I figured I'd chime in and say either or is okay with me.

DriftN7 glad to see you're back on the road. How is that clutch treating you?

I was wondering what EMS you got? If you don't have one there is really no reason to get tuned, as there is nothing to tune.

Sorry to bring the bad news, but having Steve tune a piggy pack, such as the Apexi Neo is a complete waste of money. It's a great thing when you just want to add a little fuel or run slightly larger non-stock injectors, but it is by all means NOT a standlone. You will still have no timing, injector trims, or anything nice like that. I mean do what you want, but I REALLY suggest just saving the money you would spend on a Steve Kan tune and get some other nice parts like a roll cage or money for a rebuild. With a wideband and decent EGT I think you could tune the Neo very well all by yourself.

Can't wait to get back to Yakima and try to figure out your boost problem, I have been trying to figure it out in my head since I first heard of it!

If you would like to get a standlone for pretty cheap, I can recommend a haltech e6k or if you have some free time and enjoy doing some soldering maybe even a megasquirt (but I don't like em that much). I think one of the main advantages of a standalone is getting rid of your old hard brittle stock wireing harness. My last engine died from an injector wire on the stock brittle harness breaking off. Pissed me off. I REALLY think that a Rtec 2.0/1 would be a perfect upgrade for you! Pretty cheap, but keeps the stock wireing harness if you still trust yours. That would actually be worth having Steve Kan tuning also. Still a slight overkill though.

I say its still a little overkil because its still not a real powerful standalone but still capable of putting down some good power. It does control timing and such so thats good.
