Arrow Apple Blossom Festival - 07

I checked with both the INWR and RPNW clubs and it doesn't look like either one of them are doing anything for the Apple Blossom Festival in Wenatchee.

I am just checking to see if there is another group that is planning to do it, otherwise I will probably just plan on going to the Rotorfest in Boise and/or wherever RPNW plans to have their rotor rally at.

Speaking on the part of Rotary Power Northwest (RPNW.ORG), we have decided to move the Northwest Rotor Rally to a new venue. Other clubs had expressed interest in having an ABF-related gathering, but our club has no plans to be there in any official capacity. For us, ABF is stale. It was fun at first, but the relantless police harassment, boring car shows and 2nd class status in the car parades took all the fun out of it.

We are exploring other venues for the NWRR right now. We are either hooking up with Mazdasport Magazine or doing our own thing in Packwood, WA. Almost certainly some sort of performance event and car show. It will be scheduled for late summer/early fall. When I know more, I will let you know.

Agreed the Police do suck... it was a fun festival though...

What about the duration of the event? Would it be a weekend thing as well?

We had people ready to go with there fingers on the phone just waiting for the go ahead to start calling sponsors in November. We didn't care who did the event, we just wanted it to happen. We were supposed to get a notification from the former RPNW President to let us know what was going on and we never got it. By the time Blake was elected there was no time for anyone to put it together.

I don't know anything about conversations you may have had with Matt, but I thought the big points were understood by all. RPNW had no interest in continuing to have the Northwest Rotor Rally at the Apple Blossom Festival; we planned to move it. And that all we asked was that whatever anyone else did about ABF, they should not use the RPNW event name "Northwest Rotor Rally". Nothing has changed. Anyone can have a get-together at ABF and call it anyting other than NWRR.
