1990 FC Seatbelt Recall
Anyone had this done by a Seattle-local dealership and had a positive experience? I live probably ~3 blocks from University Mazda, but hesitate to bring it in for the warranty work on account of them possibly "fixing" something else in exchange for the service.

I took my 91 with the auto belts in for recall service, they fixed it no problem. didn't do anything else either.
The recall service is good for the life of the vechile, no mater how many owners it changes and even if the service has been preformed before.

i called the mazda dealer by me, and they tried to say that my car was no longer under that recall, well we went round and round for a bit, than i said if they didnt want to help me, i was going to call mazda north america.
that brought a new tone to him, and he was the serive manager. he said he would call me back in 15 mins.
well about 10 mins later he called me, and informed me he had the parts on order, and he would call when they came in to set up an appointment.
i have nice new auto belts now
free of cost...

Don't have an qualms about going to Univercity Mazda. They were one of the first, if not the first Mazda dealer in the US. They constantly win awards for their Customer Service and the Parts Department, as well as winning Mazda's Top Award for the Top 5 Mazda Dealers in the US- I can't remember the award name at the moment. They are also at the top of that list. I have had nothing but good experiences from them, as well have a couple friends. Very knowledgable and won't try to sell you or "fix" something that you don't need. A very, very good and reputable dealership in my opinion.

The local dealership (Salem) replaced mine without a problem, but also replaced some stuff in the door, something to do with the locks, free of charge! I don't remember exactly they replaces as it was probably 8 years ago. CJ
Edit: I wish I just had manual belts in all of my old FCs.

I took my s5 TII into Puyallup mazda for the recall. Sat in the lobby for two years and when I came out, someone was driving my car back into the lot. ******* said he washed the car. I looked around and saw a car wash station on the frigging lot. Why would he have to drive my car in any relation to washing it? I dunno. The fixed the seatbelt but took their time.
