Make sure it's in good tune, replace any belts and hoses that need to be done, and run the weight of oil recommended by the manual for that temperature range (10W-30).

Not sure what year your car is and it may be a little off-topic, but I had a helleva time ever getting my FB to start below say...15 F.....even when it was new. It would flood in a heart-beat. I understand they improved things a little, but still, a tricycle with bald tires did better in the snow/ice. It was a fun car that just wasn't much fun when it got cold. My 'winterization' ended up including a second 'beater' car. The only change I've made over the years is that instead of a beater car, I've moved to a newer 4X4 truck with the FD.
Just thought I'd throw that out to you for consideration.

Make sure the coolant will be sufficient under the severe weather conditions that Canada puts out.
50/50 or 60/40 mix is usually Ok.
I make sure that my coolant is never over 2 years old.

your probably going to run in to flooding in such cold tempiters so you mite want to make a fuel cut switch to make it easier to deflood the car, unless its an s5 in witch case all you need to do is hold the gas pedal all the way to the floor and crank it and that will de flood it.
