Wheel Fitment Help

So I currently have wheels from a previous owner that measure 17"x8" with a 38mm offset that don't quite fit on my S4 FC, with the 5x114.3 bolt pattern on the hub. I'm looking to buy a 17"x7" to get some more inner clearance. I know people run 17s, and I double checked an offset calculator on the wheels I want to buy, however most sites (Tire Rack etc) suggest that the fitment is wrong.

The current wheels are Eagle Alloys 077 with the following specs:

17" Diameter

8" Width

38mm Offset

5.95" Backspacing

I'm looking at the Motegi MR143 CS6 wheels specifically. Here are the specs:

17" Diameter

7" Width

40mm Offset

5.63" Backspacing

Will be running a 225/45/17 tire on them. Is there any reason why these rims wouldn't fit? I would get 11mm more inner clearance like I need, and the wheels should fit comfortably in the wheel well also since I'm running a thinner rim. The mechanic that told me to get new wheels said the only real issue with the ones on the car now is a lack of inner clearance. What would make the fitment wrong on the wheels I want? Thanks! I had a look at the FC Wheel fitment thread as well, and I found a couple answers on there that would indicate the wheels should fit, but I was curious if there was something I was missing somewhere.

EDIT: I just wanted to add I'm running the Racing Beat spring kit as well. I believe RB says they're the same size as the stock springs, so I don't think I would have rubbing issues, however they do lower the car about 1".
