Question +0 offset Wheel Fitment vs. +7

Question for you wheel specialists out there. I'm currently running Enkei 92' 15x7 +7 offset wheels with 205/15/R15 tires. As of right now, the wheels sit very flush IMO and I love where they are. However, I came up on a deal I might not be able to reject unless the fitment issues are going to be a problem. His wheels are practically the same as mine, Enkei 92' 15x7 but with +0 offset. I'm wondering if I got his set of wheels, would they not look right? I was told they'd stick out double what mine do now and that doesn't sound too great. If anyone has feedback or experience on this lay it on me .

yes they would stick out more (by 7mm)
http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp

and you would gain 7mm of inner clearance from the inner edge of the rim to the strut housing. pretty simple arithmetic.

https://www.rsracing.com/tech-wheel.html

you'll lose about .25 inch backspacing

i believe that our stock "+" wheel offset is +40 so with 15x7 wheels with the same backspacing would be +21 offset. please correct me if i am wrong.

BTW do the 205 rubbers rub at all? i'm thinking about 205 but not sure if it will rub without rolled fenders. i am not lowered. if not ill just stick with 195 50 15.. keeps the spedo correct

I don't know the full details of the deal, but I'm not sure why you'd be looking at getting another set of the same wheels in a different offset when the wheels you got right now look like they fit amazing. Seriously, I love that fitment man!

I want to get the +0 offset wheels for just the rear, I like the style/look of having a decent offset in the front, and lower offset in the rear.

As as already been said. the 0 offset willsit just a little more than a quarter inch further out and about a quarter inch more lip. +7 in front and 0 in the rear will look great. FYI with the 0 if you run 225 you'll mostlikely rub in the rear. It depends on spring rate and how dropped you really are. With the +7 you can just barely run a 225. But 205's will work all day on both sets.

WOW! What are you running stock cut springs or something? Mine never rubs and I'm dumped with the +7 on 205's. Then again I run 200 rear springs. When I was running the eibach I only rubed with 225's no rub with the 205's. You should just trade him 2 then you both could look cool. Or, just offer him some cash.

Thanks for the info in this thread.

I am planning on ordering custom wheels...so having all this offset info is vital. I plan on going for the "hella flush" look too!

RB springs non cut, with tokico blues all around.. I think my rear fenders need to be rolled that's why.

Oh yeaa.... LOL! That's the first thing I do to my FB's. That should've been the first thing you did. Roll them with a bat and a hairdryer and say goodbye to rub issues.

i tried a 0 offset wheel once on the back of my gsl-se. I thought it stuck out too far and looked too ghetto. (just my opinion) I'd stick with your current offset.

The size of the rim as well as offset determin how far it sticks out. A 15x10 wheel with 0 offset is going to stick out about 2 inches more than a 15x7 inch rim with 0 offset. If they are both 15x7. The 0 offset will only stick out 7mm more then the +7 offset you have now. 25.4mm=1 inch. 7mm=.27550955118" or about a quarter of an inch... remember the width of the rim is determined by the beadland to beadland measurement. It's not including the lips.
at people bad at elemantary math.

Back spacing includes the size of the lip. Offset doesn't.

So technically if it's only a quarter of an inch more it shouldnt look bad at all in the rear.
