What's the difference?

Between dre and shady.

On the real this is my first rx7 never saw myself with one so I don't know as much as I probably should. But just wondering, whats the difference between the FB and FC. Not the obvious like 12avs13b or that its a different body style, more so performance. I've read that the FB was more of a true sports car yet so many people say the FC is the better car. Why?

Isn't the 13b that was in the 84 gsl-se a little different than the ones they put in the fc?

The biggest difference is that the FC is heavy compared to the FB's. Less weight just makes everything better. The GSL-SE combines an EFI 13B with the lighter FB chassis, so best of both worlds. Engine setups get better between S3, S4 and S5 cars, but that should be obvious. FB has a steering box and live axle rear end. FC has rack and pinion and a multi-link rear suspension. Other than that, they are designed pretty similar.

Basically everything except Dr. Dre, Eminem, and 50 Cent.

I like the FC better because it has more room and better steering. My FB was a lot of fun, and I didn't mind the rear axle, but the steering was pretty bad. Also, it is getting pretty difficult to find parts for the FB now.

My FC coupe is like LL Cool J, but my FC convertible is only like Vanilla Ice. A friend of mine obtained a V8 FB that had an Insane Clown Posse sticker on it.

Like EA said, I think the steering is much better on the FC. I've driven my FC through Glenwood Canyon in Colorado in under 13 minutes and never felt like it was risky.

I agree with the steering some of the sketchiest wheel play I've ever felt. It is however, the best handling car I've owned by far. Better than any of my dumped Honda's or S13. I was told the fb had a rack and pinion though? At least mine anyway. The previous owner of mine put an Fc rear suspension on it. What makes the Fc rear better?

My FB had the Mazda Motorsports Stage II coilover suspension. It handled great, but whenever I crested a hill or hit a bump at high speed the steering would change when the front end got light. The car never changed directions, but the force on the steering wheel would change, trying to yank the car in one direction or the other. I never lost control of the car, but it was scary. The car drove great on flat autocross courses, although the steering play could have been better.

The FB has recirculating ball steering. The steering system looks like a bunch of bars connected together with joints.

A rack and pinion conversion has a really thick center tube with boots on the ends. The center tube is mounted to the frame of the car. Below is the ReSpeed aftermarket rack.

The previous owner of your FB is either an amazing mechanic with a huge shop, or he is full of ****.

The FC has Independent Rear Suspension (IRS), plus all FC models have rear disk brakes.

I think hes an amazing mechanic because I have IRS and rear disc. He had the car for like 10 years and had a pretty killer shop.Im pretty sure I have recircilated ball front though that's what mine looks like. Is that respeed conversion a good one to get? I really want to get rid of the ghost wheel feel.
