If you are running the stock turbo, then the NA drivetrain will be fine in most cases. Once you start going past what the stock turbo will do (250HP or so) then the NA drivetrain starts to become fragile.
It sort of depends what you are doing with the car as well. Drag launches will make quick work of the NA drivetrain behind a turbo engine.

If you're driving it gently, the N/A will be fine. Most people with a turbo tend to hit it harder, so it is likely you'll eventually break the rear. If you'd rather be safe than sorry, change the rear. If you feel lucky, run it until it breaks.
just about anything but a 6k+ drag launch on stickies without preloading it.
I've ran into the same problem. after talking to some people I decided to swap the rear end. (when i get to it)
the gear ratio on the N/A for my year is 3.9 while the one for the turbo is 4.1. I figured if I didn't do the swap the whole point of the turbo would be lost as I wouldn't be able to transfer all that front end power to the back and that I would eventually bust the diff.
of course, like everyone else said you can probably get away without it but you would have to go easy on the acceleration. I'm not sure about your year and model but if you want to do it this way you may have to have a shop extend the driveshaft or purchase a custom one from mazdatrix.

yeah i got a guy to quote me for a whole drivetrain swap fly wheel all the way back and he's gonna do a short throw and stage 2 clutch for a really good price just gonna go ahead in do it ill post pictures and let you all know how it works out for me
theres alot of people that have done the ls1 swap and kept the na rear intact surpisingly,if your on a budget and dont drop the clutch constantly at high rpms id say keep the na for as long as it lasts, especially if you have the clutch type lsd(86-88) if you have the $$ to spend then grab a t2,seems like their only going up in price though,id say your looking at spending at least $375 on up for the rear and halfshafts
