If you don't have any experience in tuning, then no ECU is user friendly. How much experience do you have? Have you done any research into the ECUs listed under the Engine Management forum?
Most ECUs nowadays come with great illustrations/wiring diagrams. Haltechs are easier to tune for most. I like ECU's that use cells rather than bars. I also like ECUs that have all fuel/timing load settings on one page, makes tuning in my opinion much easier.
I have installed haltechs, from the E6ks to the E11, microtechs and Electromotive. I prefer the TEC unit overall but love the features of the E11.

Installation may get tricky unless you have a clude what you are doing but I am in love with autronic. I have a SM4 in my corolla and it will soon go in my fc once i have a motor for it.
Interface is awesome and the driveabiltiy is amazing.

Firstly, theres the electronics:
You can't just go hacking up a harness and taping wires together...
You have to understand what signals are needed for what functions; crank/cam angle sensors, wideband AFR, Coolant temp, Intake air tamp, manifold air pressure, throttle position.... It all needs to go to the right place.
Then there's the tuning:
If you tell the engine to go to 17:1 AFR at very low kPa MAP and high Throttle and then you floor it, what do you think's going to happen?
If you don't know the answer to this, then you shouldn't be running an aftermarket ECU at all.
