water/meth on FD

Hi all,
I purchased a car that had an AEM water/meth system installed to help keep the engine cool. I’m 100% new to this mod. I haven’t seen the green light turn on while driving, but temps have been stable and in expected ranges.
so two questions -
1. when, typically, should that light be on? and is it like a quick green flash or a stays on solid?
2. is it okay to hit the test button under normal driving conditions to check if it works?

edit: just to confirm, the reservoir is not empty
thank you for your input!

I'm not particularly familiar with the AEM stuff or your particular system. You could go to their site for info or ask the previous owner. And the green light may have simply been something custom installed "ala carte"...as I did on mine. On most systems it's purpose is to illuminate when the pump is activated and stays illuminated while the pump is on-line. So if it's not coming on you'll have to check for power to the pump and any in-line fuses. On many systems the pump is activated by a Hobbs or pressure switch. Sometimes that switch is integrated into a controller. Those switches are adjustable to activate at a pre-determined boost level. Also no idea on your "test" light but I doubt it would hurt anything.
Auxillary Injection is a worthwhile modification. So it’s worth the time to make sure it’s working as it should. Where is the nozzle located? Pump location? Pics of your system might help.

Green light is supposed to be on solid while spraying. There are various flashing sequences for fault codes and empty res.
Is the fluid level going down at all? It would probably be an idea to removd the nozzle and press the test button. If its working you will get a lovely cooling mist all over your face and your whole garage.

Thanks you! This is the guidance I was hoping to start with. I haven’t noticed a drop in fluid levels, but I’ve only driven the car ~ 10 miles since ownership. The nozzle is on the intake side so I could disconnect it and try the test feature to see what happens. I’ll try this after work and report back.

It will only spray when you make boost. Which might not be likely on a 10 mile drive unless you were giving it a handful and knew whst you were looking for.
Have a look on the AEM website and see if you can download the instructions

I got on it and definitely made boost with no indication the light came on. Will the test only work under boost as well? Or can that be tested at idle?
Pulling down instructions now

woo turns out it’s been spraying fine. It’s not an LED light like I thought but a very dim green light that you can’t see from the every angle. Had a passenger do a few runs with me and they verified it was actually illuminated. thanks all!!
