Checking for vacuum leaks isn't rotary-specific. A common way is to spray water, carb cleaner, etc... around areas that could have potential leaks. You're just looking for something to temporarily seal the leak, which will cause the idle speed to briefly increase. An unlit torch can be used in a similar manner.

Well depending on the condition of the motor, every rx7 I've purchased the vacuum hoses got replaced quickly especially if its a Turbo ****, but the good troubleshooting is intake cleaner along the intake or injectors to hear if there's a leak.

Does this mean spraying at the bottom of injectors or places that might have leaks while at idle?
