Tyre help

Hi all. Just need some advice again 😂😂 I am running 18 s on my Fd on standard shocks.
tyres are 225/40 on front and 245/40 on back
offset is 22 and there 9.5 width.
they seem to rub on fronts. Am I being a bit thick! Why would they rub. I have read some history on here and they should be ok.
any help please.
thanks
Jamie

There are three Stickys there that should help.
Can’t help you with 18” wheels and stock suspension...but I suppose it might help others to know where they’re rubbing. And 9.5 wide wheels seem a bit on the unnecessarily wide side for 225 and 245.

That's quite a low offset. Looking at other threads that say you want a +50 offset on a 9.5 to 10" wheel would put your +22 offset a full inch more towards the outside of the body. Tire diameter on a 225/40/18 is also over 25.08" which they recommend to be below 25".

Rolled arches?

Ok thanks for your feedback. It would seem I’ve bought the wrong size 18s then...**** I may have to roll the arches me thinks. 😱😱😱

thanks again.

You never said where it was rubbing...apparently it was the fenders.

FYI, at most you need an 8” wide wheel for a 225 tire, and at most a 8.5” wheel for 245 tire width.
Wouldn’t it make more sense to fit the wheel to the car instead of the other way around...and be able to put a wider tire on at the same time?

Good point

Yes there rubbing middle top of tyres at front.
I paid a lot for the wheels and I kinda like the rolled look as well. Also at a later date I would like to body kit it. I am a novice at quite a lot of this coming from a biking background. Hence so many questions😂😂 I might still change wheels for a diff size to be fair.
thanks all genuinely appreciate your help
