TII engine bogs under acceleration

I just recently purchased a tII and everything is good with it other than when you start to accelerate harder than a normal take off it bogs down. But the kicker is when you turn the ac on it runs better. Without it on the idle is rough. I've heard it may be egr or it also may be fpr... Anybody experience this before?

Could be an intake leak somewhere or possibly the fuel pump? My friends car would sputter when he accelerated and I told him to check the fuel pump but he let it go saying it was something else. 2 months later if that, the fuel pump went.

My buddy put in a walbro pump a few months back. Can I check for leaks like a piston engine? The way I did it was just spray starter fluid around the intake and vacuum lines. Rotary engines are a new thing for me...

I assume you can do that by spraying (I dont know about starting fluid because of the vac lines that run to the injectors) some type of fluid and looking around. Maybe he didnt install a new fuel pump sock or some of the hoses are leaking/hooked up wrong? I know the fuel pump sock is supposed to be replaced when messing with the fuel pump.

I had the pump out today and everything appeared fine on it. I guess I forgot to mention that the boost gauge doesn't work either... So maybe a boost leak?

Ok I guess I have to pull the intercooler off. I'll be back tomorrow hopefully with results. Thanks for the help! Hopefully this fixes it

Check your Boost Sensor according to spec found in the FSM as it is an easy process. You'll need to measure the output of voltage on one of the sensor wires which runs to the ECU and it should fall within a certain range w/key to on and the vacuum hose disconnected and plugged.

The wire to focus on is the Green/Yellow wire and w/key to on and the vacuum hose removed and plugged it should read 3.4 to 3.6 volts.

And is that for the gauge not working or for the gauge not working and the stumbling problem?

What type of Walbro pump? If it's the 255, then the car is running massively rich because of it.

If the boost gauge doesn't work, perhaps the pressure sensor is disconnected or intermittant?

Then that must be it he said it is a 255iph walbro pump. What pump would you recommend? Just switch it back to stock? I plan on making more power with the engine gradually if that helps.

I talked to my buddy today and he said the car ran perfect when he swapped fuel pumps and this problem came around later. Sorry I have nothing to report back with today other than that. He also said the boost gauge never worked even when it ran perfectly

I'd recommend putting back the stock pump if the car is stock. The Walbro may not be the cause of the issue, but it isn't helping and just causing excessive fuel consumption.

Have you checked the pressure sensor and checked for inake leaks?

Finally broke away from my busy schedule to fix the car. The boost sensor just needed to be reground! Car runs great now
