Hey guys with me having the uim off I was wondering if I could scope the motor to see if it is really street ported thx for any help

 

If you're familiar with port shape, yes. But it might be hard to tell with a minor port job.

 

You can also tell by its idle.

 

no. not necessarily. i've built streetports that have idled like stock and i've built streetports that have idled like mild bridges. idle is not a measuring stick. you tell by looking on disassembly (some don't smooth out runners ), but feeling around might work, too.

 

you can't really see the ports with the LIM on the block, it would have to be removed and then yes, a real ported motor would be easy to spot.

 

Thx for ur help I don't want to deal with the pain of pulling the turbos and then the lim I was hoping I could use a scope w/e have to wait to blow it to find out

 

street ports are fun

 

however does the street ported rotarys have more power than bridgeported ?

 

bridge generally makes more power but the power range is slightly higher and if it's naturally aspirated you will need a custom intake manifold to utilize it.

 

and with a turbo application a streetport is generally better
