Squealing when starting

I finally got my rx7 running and am now being plagued with this ungodly noise every time I fire up the car http://m648.photobucket.com/albumview/albums/bilbobug/vw%20bus/mustache%20bar%20bracket/2011-11-24_10-52-37_320.mp4.html?o=2&newest=1 << (video of it starting… NOTE: I know I need to buy a new exhaust gasket for the exhaust.) Could this be coming from the starter by chance?

Video link does not work. A common source of a squeal is a slipping belt.

^That would have been my first guess too. Especially when cold.

while the car is running put soup like a bar across the belt if that works then replace them.

it's only for the first 2 seconds when you turn the key but goes away after it is started. doesn't squeal at all once it's going.

The reason my video link isn't working is because my dad removed it from his photobucket account it guess seeing as i can't find it anywhere.

Check the contact surfaces of your belt(s) for a slightly shiny look or other signs that the belt is dried up and hardened....cracks, fraying cords etc.
Belts are cheap, just be careful not to over-tighten.

Where in the Omaha area are you?

Getting off-topic, but how's the FD Kristall? Haven't seen you since the ICC. Put it up for the winter yet?

Mine does the same thing. It hadn't been started in 6 years and when I got it started we quickly realized it needs new belts.
