Question Some questions about turbos and intercoolers

Hello all, I'm interested at the HKS T04z TWIN Turbo upgrade: anyone has some info?

Next, which intercooler is better for that turbo?? I saw the HKS V-mount or the GReddy V-Mount...

Finally, I think that a Koyo radiator is ok, no?

Thanks, sorry for my english but I'm Italian

welcome to the board.

here's an old thread that can serve as an example of what the turbo can do. just for the record, it's a SINGLE.
https://www.rx7club.com/single-turbo...-graph-927841/

you should probably open up your options for the intercooler. I've never owned a Gen III, but when I had my MR2, I learned that limiting myself to parts that carried BIG names was not almost the smartest thing to do.

finally, for the radiator, i'm sure you will hear from a Gen III guy soon enough to guide you as to which radiators are best for your FD.

good luck in making your choices and purchases. also, your English is fine.

Thank you for theese very good info Yea, It's a single, sry.
Finally, I think that I'll take a GReddy T78 or T88!
But the problem is the intercooler: I'm interested at a V-Mount, but I don't know which is better: HKS or GReddy..

they both cost a boat load of money so it's honestly a personal choice.
Unless One "flows better",which I can't really see.. there's a hole in one end, cools, goes out other side.
Intercooler..tada..!
only thing is Greedy(same difference GReDDy) has more "letters" in it's name so if you are playing Scrabble..get the Greddy!

And since you want to get that bigger turbo with more psi. I Woud prefer a new oil cooler, as dual coolers cost way to much, a more better efficient way and alot cheaper way is to install a rx7 fc oil cooler linearly with the stock sidemount one as oil in the fd cool 50% of engine including turbo.

Or - if they still make them - I have a standard mount Greddy unit (google SMIC)

See the pic in this link

https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generati...-144512/page2/

Its alost thicker than the standard unit and could reduce some of the airflow issues that present themselves when going to full front mounts (that is reducing airflow to the radiator).

Hope this helps - Rusty
