ok, so its going up to 500 rpm but it still won't start.. gonna put some tranny fluid down in the spark plug... ITS trying really hard to start and its smoking like a SOB.. any ideas??? whenever i spin it over it hits between 300rpms and 500rpms but won't start.. it has plenty fuel pressure. I plugged that wire back into the ECU and it made it worse so im gonna leave it unplugged..

so any ideas would help

I can't remember if you tried to jumper the fuel check connector as a method to try to get the car started. If not, then try this as it is quick and painless.

There was a member on the other board who was trying everything to get his car started and it ended up being a clogged catalytic converter. He changed plugs, ECU, AFM and it did not help. If you're willing to take the time out to check you might then want to briefly unbolt the exhaust from the cat and see if this will make a difference. Stranger things have happened.

round 3million!

Ok so just doing some catch up on some things ive done and things that SHOULD take place this weekend is the weather is right!.

First off I removed pin 3B from the ECU which is a Black/Blue wire on the smallest plug to the ECU (far left plug).
Replaced the Spark plugs
Checked the Wires for spark
Check Firing Order of the Spark plugs.
insured the order was correct when reconnected to motor.
Checked Fuel injectors
Checked Fuel Pressure
Checked Fuel Pump
Cleaned Fuel Tank
Refilled Tank
Replaced Battery and Terminals
Checked the TIMING in accordance with the manual and forum with the CRANK angle position Sensor and yellow line on the Crank Pulley...
Added 2cycle oil to sparkplug holes to rebuild compression and also tranny fluid after a few times of turning to soften back up the seals.
All these things I have done and HAS helped the car
Pulled the car with my truck also to see if i could get to start and a NO GO

Things to do this WEEKEND: Replace the ECU which I have a replacement, and UNBOLT the CAT from the exhaust if the ECU idea fails to insure that the cat is not backed up..

The car is currently jumping between 300-500rpms which is better than when i had started but it won't completly turned over.
and to the guy above if u didn't read rest of the forum here is how to check your timing

Ok, so i hooked the ECU up and even tried it with the pin that was removed from the other one... Cranked it and!!!!!!! nothing... it didnt even try to fire or anything.. I contacted the guy i bought the eCU from he said it worked before shipped it to me.. i talked to him for nearly an hour and he said it might be a wiring harness problem. does anyone have any IDEAS? oh yeah i hooked the old ECU up and its back to the back firing and smoking but not starting.. so annoying!

Try disconnecting the cat as suggested. Do you need a down pipe? What if this trick doesn work? Then you don't. So you would only need one if it works.

9/10 times your car wont start its most likely cuz of it being flooded

lol i had the same problem with my 1987 NA 13B ska, i tried absolutely every f***ing thing! It just wouldn't start!!!! I ended up cracking it and bought a FC3S Turbo Halfcut with a complete rear cradle, in the process of converting now, just one word of advise if you do this, make sure you get the door and rear harness for the WHOLE s5 fc3s....or you will be banging your head against a wall rewiring EVERYTHING!

it might be possible that your seals are gone in your engine and you simply just dont have enough compression to get it started? It may be rebuild time.

ok so heres the update, installed some workin injectors, and disconnected the exhaust.. and now instead of the usuall spin over its spins with a bang then spin, bang, spin, bang, spin, bang...... Maybe its something electrical thats not letting the car turn all the way over?? I still havn't done a compression check yet but I will shortly I only have a week to work onthe car then back to Virginia I go
