Exclamation Single straight piped exhuast?

I am tearing out my stock exhaust system and I want to straight pipe it from the aftermarket headers right to the muffler( with pre-silencer). Is there any problems that could result from doing this? Like will any ports close? anything? I'm trying to get this project started very soon so I'd like to know before I start. Thanks!

S5 i doesn't matter, S4 will screw around with your 5/6th ports.

It will also be very very very very very very very loud.

well you have a couple options. but ill just tell you the easiest one. racing beat has the header with the pick up tube in it so it will make your ports open for you./

What seals? Engines don't need backpressure to run. The only reason it will affect an S4 NA is due to the auxiliary port actuators needing exhaust pressure to open.

i just got done with my exhaust, i used a racing beat header, and a borla cat back, with a custom pipe connecting the two. im going to use my air pump to operate the 5th/6th ports.

No, you need to convert your 5th/6th ports to work by the air pump. It won't do it automatically.

Or you can just buy an exhaust that has the pickup tube already accounted for and leave the stock system.

Why get rid of perfectly good 5th/6th ports?

You make yourself a slower car, and lose a pretty sweet functionality.

Ehhh screw wiring the ports. I'm just going to go with the headers that have the pick up tube. It's so much easier. I'm probably going to remove the air pump since I'm removing the cats too and I'm going to get a dual belt pulley for the alternator.
