Seems a lot of oil?

Hi all happy new year. Ok so I use a **** load of oil! I am always topping her up and yes I do drive hard. But this is excessive. I have great compression and the car goes so well. Pulls like a train! No issues with over heating or anything but wow like a litre every time I top it up. This can’t be normal the only tell tell signs of poss something wrong is the white mayo crap in the cap and down the filler neck(oil).
have I blown some seals or something. Any advice would be brilliant.
1992 touring x
hks intakes
new intercooler
apexi fc base map
full oil service and water change including antifreeze
air pump not working but that’s the only thing
car in good condition and drives well.
Thanks all

Is it smoking? If not, I think you have to be leaking.

Hello

Hello thanks for fast reply. No smoking at all. Maybe on start up for like 3 seconds but that’s all pretty clean. Weird!

Just trying to understand,
a liter per what distance?

Been a long time since I've been up to date on this stuff, but I recall a couple decades ago a few people who drove hard all the time could go through a quart every 500 miles or so (~900 km).

Hope the best for you.

I'd still pay close attention, it would be on the extreme end if memory serves me correct.

Basically, your oil consumption is related to your driving. The OMP (oil metering pump) pumps more oil in the higher rpms you run at/harder you drive. If you spend a significant amount of time above 5k, you will burn a lot more oil than someone who does the 'redline a day' rule and otherwise drives less spirited for 80-90% of the time.

I dont know, but I'd assume it would be available as it is for the rx8, a SOHN adapter changes where the system derives its oil, from a tank you install and put something like idemitsu 2 stroke oil. You would replace that oil as frequently, but your engine oil usage would be more like a piston engine. Some people do premixed in the gas with it.

The omp injects the oil directly into the combustion chamber to both lubricate and I believe cool your apex seals and stuff so at high rpms and load, it is really pumping that stuff in there at a good rate compared to idle and low rpm and load.

I'd still keep a keen eye on everything, caution is never a bad idea

Enjoy that baby for all of us who are without a 7 for now!
