It could also just be condensation getting past your oil filler cap and mixing with the oil. I had something similar and was all worried like you are. To me it looked like snot - pardon my vulgarity but that is what it looked like. This is what happens when water mixes with oil. Check your oil dipstick. If this same stuff is at the bottom of the dipstick down by the fill marks you probably have a water jacket problem that fc3s.org is talking about. If the oil at the bottom looks normal then it's probably just condensation from having a hot engine on a cool day. On my car this snot was on the oil filler cap and the top part of the oil filler tube as well as the top part of the oil dipstick. But the oil on the bottom of the stick was nice and clear like it should be. This was last fall and my car is still perfectly healthy. Hope this helps.

Mine looked like gizzim from some STD infected wanger, or perhaps a bad nasal infection, topped with whipped cream. Course I know that motors bad, it blows smoke over 7k and for a minute or so on startup. I really need a 12a so I dont have to use my TII as a daily driver...

my firend got a 88 Turbo ll.....and he told me the tempture level shouldn't be at the middle...it should be cooler than that..like 1/4 from the cool to hot.....you know when you start your car...your car always cool.....than the tempture will rise up to the middle...but he said that's not normal...the tempture should be alittle lower than middle.....is that ture? or it just he's 88 turbo?
I dirve a 89 turbo...

Here's how the gauges work: Cold, Normal, Too late.
87-88 T2 should run at 1/4 gauge normal op temp.
89-91 T2 should run at 1/2 gauge normal op temp.
Hope that helps you out, your running normal, but an aftermarket gauge is always a good idea.
