safe boost for an fd?
Hello, I have a '94 FD, no cats, Greddy intake and a stock ECU and fuel system. I recently installed the intake and boost is now creeping up to around 12 psi around 6500-7000 rpm. Just wondering if this is a safe boost for this setup, don't want to detonate the engine. If not, i assume an intercooler upgrade and larger fuel injectors/fuel pump are in order?

Larger fuel pump/injectors and intercooler etc will not fix the creep problem.
You need a Boost controller.Since you have NO cats now that is why your Boost is creeping.

1st..Safe boost on stock fuel and stock ECU is 10 psi...period.
2nd...you're creeping because you have no cats. Exhaust is overwhelming the wastegate and a boost controller WILL NOT control CREEP it only controls SPIKE. Either add some restriction in the exhaust with a cat (even a hiflow cat will do) or port the wastegate (pita since it's internal).
3rd...opening the intake causes SPIKE. So you MAY also need a BC with the open intake and if you have or get a bigger IC
4th...IMO 12 psi is close to max efficiency on the stock twins when their life span begins to shorten significantly. With the stock IC thats also alot of heat.

You can safely run 12psi with a PFC or a reflashed ecu on stock injectors .
