Squeaks in My RX-7
I recently purchased a 1993 RX-7 with 19,000 miles. It has been well maintained and cared for, but there is a squeaking/chirping sound that primarily depends on the roughness of the road. The squeaks stop when the car stops or when the car reaches highway speeds. But in town, on anything but the smoothest roads, there is a lot of noise. And sometimes when I turn the engine off and close either the driver or passenger door, I get a single "chirp". As often is the case with car noises, it is very hard to tell where the noise is coming from, but my best guess is that the origin is from the area of the dashboard. I have tried to stop the squeaks by pressing various dashboard parts with my hand to no avail. Anybody have such an experience? If so, any solutions? Thanks.

I had similar squeaks and my car when I bought it. But it's not likely they were all the same origin as yours. Keep doing what you're doing is my only suggestion. When you find it if its not caused by something loose I've had good luck using clear silicone caulk. Just a small dab between two plastic parts that are squeaking works very well.
