s5 swap into 87n/a questions
i have an 87 n/a rx7, i have a turbo transmission, i am buying a S5 turbo engine complete with harness and computer. i want to put it in my car. anything i should be figuring into my budget that i am not aware of. i have a racing beat exhaust from the header back off the n/a can i get away with using my exhaust minus the header obviously because of the turbo? how about under hood items? coils afm ect? yeah im a noob.

Uh, there is a large difference between the S4 and S5 wiring. Putting the S5 ECU and emissions/engine harness in place will require considerable modification of the S4 body harness to match up with the S5 ECU. This is generally considered an advanced swap and not usually recommended. Bring up both the S4 and S5 wiring diagrams (see the FAQ) to see what kind of fun you are in for.
Too bad you spent that kind of money on the Mazdatrix shaft when you can't afford the engine. I just had my local driveline shop make me a TII transmission to NA rear shaft for $218 Canadian. Don't discount local resources.
