Exclamation s4 questions

okay i need help. i have major low end power problems. 1st gear from stand still my 7 trys to die. it sputters and bogs til around 3k rpm. then the problem is done. then at the next stand still same problem. which leads to my question. i was told its maybe the actuators being wired open. whats the point in doing this? and how do i remove this mod? where are the actuators? how do they work? anyone know what the hell im talking about? im lost

What they are talking about is what is called 'auxiliary actuators' AKA 5th and 6th port actuators. Wiring them open usually makes low end power go down a bit but most people dont seem to have idle issues with this. They are located on your intake manifold above the exhaust manifold. No pics, sorry.

from what i figured out the 5th and 6th ports get a vacum source that routes to the 6pi solenoid on the rats nest then routes back to the aux ports. they should open at ~3800rpm.

they are pretty easy to spot. two acuators on the front and rear of the engine that have a vacum line going in the bottom of each, they are big round "pots" with a acuating rod that extends out the top of each.

anyone correct me if im wrong.

Potentially. I wired mine open once when I was testing if they were working at all. Idle did become rough, and it was sluggish under about 3K RPM. The whole point of wiring them open is to be lazy. A functional system is 10x better and will make the car faster.
